each season has a different principal cast, so they're easy to tell apart. there's Ecclestone and Piper, Piper and Tennant, Tennant and Agyman and then Tennant and Tate.

I plan to start Seriees 2 this evening, but before I do I have a question. Do the various seasons (up to four now, right?) have an overall theme to them in any way? Maybe not necessarily something arc-intensive, but is there some type of thematic element that distinguishes one series from another?

The first season's key word is "Bad Wolf", the second season's key word is "Torchwood", the third season's word is "Saxon" and the fourth season is alittle vaguer than that, it more about key phrases than words.
