Stepping into the TARDIS: Series 1

Excellent. Thank to both of you. I should have noticed the "Bad Wolf" in German, though. Took it inhigh school for 4 years. :o

I'm not going to bother asking what all of this "Bad Wolf" stuff is, just yet. So far folks are implying that it's a major plot twist.

Re: 1 x 08 "The Doctor Dances"

I have to tell you that this pair of episodes is superb, but I think "Father's Day" is still my favorite so far. Granted I've only seen the first 8 if Series 1. Still, it was FANtastic :D to see the Doctor become so animated over a day "where everyone lives. Such emotion!

Re: 1 x 08 "The Doctor Dances"

"Father's Day" will be referenced again in more episodes later in season 2. However, if you wait another two years, you'll get references to Doctor Dances. I'm not going to say what they are, how they come in to play, or who dies because of it, but they're there.

Re: 1 x 08 "The Doctor Dances"

I ppreciate the cautious approach. But don't worry about it too much, because I'm not big on spoilers for myself.

The Empty Child/Doctor Dances, Father's Day and Dalek went 1-2-3 in the Hugo voting that year, they were that good. But I thought that the finale Parting Of The Ways was pretty awesome too.

That's what I'd call a seriously well-organized fandom.

I really am enjoying this series, just as I thought I would. One day these DVDs WILL be a part of my collection!!! Well, I will give yours back to you ... someday. :D

There's no rush. :techman: I just got the official season four set so you have two more seasons to watch eventually. :techman:

Re: 1 x 07 "The Empty Child"

Question: What is the significance of "Albion Hospital" or is there any? The name possibly? I only ask because the camera held on it a bit, and the music seemed More ominous than it had been, as if it were significant.

It seemed rather obvious or more likely that I just got luck and guessed right for once, that there was something suspicious of Dr. Constantine. And that this was going to be a cliffhanger.

No real significance but it did appear in "Aliens of London":

I rewatched "The end of the World" the other day, forgot how great it was.

As for Neroon, will you hurry up and get to season 3, because the best is yet to come (and yes everyone knows what I'm talking about).

1 x 11 - Boom Town

Alright.... "Dinner in bondage... works for me!"

This one has started off nicely, with the reveal of Margaret and her plot. Curious how the Doctor has mixed in some humor and some pithy comments during dinner. But I like how Margaret has shrewdly pointed out to the Doctor that he's a killer as well. Yeah, we've had a couple of the requisite "we're not so different after all" speeches... but they work. They work because they pierce the Doctor's veneer a bit.

Question: where did Capt. Jack come from? I thought that at the end of the Doctor Dances it looked like he was either a gonner or something drastic had to happen. There was no exposition at the beginning to explain how he got away.

Question: "Bad wolf" is obviously something HUGE. We had the first solid stop to focus upon it, with the name of the company. The Doctor goes into a mysterious bit about it ..... then shuts it all off.

Question: Am I feeling sympathy towards Mickey... or just supreme annoyance?

I am enjoying this one.... gee how many times have I said that already?

The Doctor saved him at the end of The Doctor Dances just before you see the Doctor dancing in fact.

Sympathy, you'll love him by the end of the second season.

Re: 1 x 12 - Bad Wolf

What a kick that folks are more or less forcibly transported form game to game! G4 would love this episode.

A new question: It seems that the Doctor believes he caused whatever it was that brought the 100 years of hell to the Earth. But how? Did we see it in "Boom Town"? This I have to know!!!

Capt. Jack - hints at a definite interest in the Doctor. ;)

And the Daleks are BACK?!?!?!

A curiosity though.... this episode is called "Bad Wolf" but we get precious little about who or what it is. Unless it's the revelation that the company running the Game Station is "BADWOLF". Somehow, there is more to this plot line. :etf;
