News Stay At Home With ULTRAMAN| Ultra Science Fiction Hour on YouTube

Oh. So Gomess is a franchise staple. I thought was pretty cheesy when I first saw it. I was expecting a more serious looking robot for the human forces

You got the names mixed up. Gomess is the monster from the beginning of the Ultraman Z episode, the robot is named Sevenger (gotta love puns). Gomess, though, is also a figure from the franchise's history, as he appeared in the very first episode of "Ultra Q".

This weekend, Tsuburaya chose something outside of the Ultra Series for their "Stay At Home with ULTRAMAN" series. It's an episode of "Kaiju Booska", a children's sitcom about a size-changing friendly kaiju named Booska who lives with the mad scientist that created him. The show is from 1966, it launched just a couple of weeks after the original Ultraman. This will also be my first look at this show, so I'm quite curious how it will turn out:

But before that, there's also the second episode of "Ultraman Z" going live in about half a day:

Well, episode 2 of "Ultraman Z" just ended, and it was a blast. The effects are really fantastic for a TV production, I especially like the camera work during the kaiju scenes. Also, they established a romantic subplot, and this one seems... weird.

Okay, Booska had no English subtitles, but I still would have watched through it, trying to make sense of it somehow. But then, the picture and sound were out of sync, and that was too much for even me.

But, similar to last week's surprise Ultraman Leo episode, Tsuburaya's streaming the third episode of the original Ultraman in a few hours, explicitly with English subtitles.

I find the humor in ultraman z pretty funny like when Riku learns out about Z being 5000 years old. Ultraman was like

That was pretty brutal how ultraman broke Nerongas horns

And the final installment of "Stay At Home With ULTRAMAN". This is the final episode of "Ultraman Nexus", which is an odd choice. This show was heavily serialized, so if this would be your first time watching, I wouldn't recommend starting with this one. For all of us who've already seen it, let's re-watch and remember how awesome Nexus was:

In about two days (Saturday morning US time, check the countdown at the link) there's going to be a 4-hour "Ultraman Day" livestream event, presented by Tsuburaya, Millcreek, Marvel, Elevated Games, and more.
Among the guests will be original Ultraman suit actor Bin Furuya, Marvel's C.B. Cebulski and Tom Brevoort, Kaiju comic artist Matt Frank, and Millcreek's William Winkler. Some of these sessions will be interactive. It will also give a look at an upcoming video game, as well as the new Millcreek "The Birth of Ultraman" release.

Are the Ultraman Z episode only up for a limited amount of time? I went to watch episode 1 a couple days ago, but I couldn't find the complete episodes one.

They're only up for two weeks. Tsuburaya re-uploaded episode one, though, as I previously posted, and that one should still be up:

While I've seen a few episodes from the Ultra franchise over the years, Z is my first attempt to actually watch one from the beginning, and I'm enjoying it quite a bit so far. It does a nice job balancing the humor and the action, and even when it's being wacky or a bit over the top it feels like it fits tonally.

Does anybody else find it a little weird that Z's "base" form isn't what Haruki transforms into? The fact that Alpha Edge is used instead threw me for a bit. Particularly because I love Z's base design. Visually Beta Smash is a step backward, in my eyes, but that's made up for with the wrestling style the two use in that form. Love it. From the opening it looks like there should be another form yet, I'm hoping it gets some kind of weapon to differentiate it from the other two.

Still though, this has been solid viewing through the first three episodes. Now I'm off to watch ep 4.

It's still an amazing feat that each episode is getting a million views.

More exciting news. Shoutfactory and Millcreek will stream more Ultraman series

https://deadline.com/2020/07/ultram...tory-mill-creek-distribution-deal-1202982694/

Shout! Factory and Mill Creek Entertainment have formed a multi-year distribution alliance to bring Tsuburaya Productions’ Ultraman superhero library to streaming services in North America.

The roots of Ultraman go back to the mid-1960s, when the original TV series first aired in Japan. It has since added many incarnations and spinoffs, maintaining popularity amid the global superhero boom in pop culture. The multi-year distribution deal spans more than 1,100 TV episodes and 20 movies.

Shout! Factory and its streaming service, Shout! Factory TV, will have exclusive subscription and ad-supported digital rights in the U.S. and Canada. Shout! Factory TV, whose app is available on a range of connected devices, plans an “aggressive rollout” of Ultraman titles this year on its new TokuShoutsu streaming channel, which is available on Pluto TV. Some of them have never before been viewable in North America.

So Shout has Kamen Rider AND Ultraman. Yet Sentai is missing out.....

Cool. I've been enjoy Chojin Sentai Jetman, and I'm hoping to check out some Ultraman and Kamen Rider once I finish it.

Not anymore, when I try to watch it, it says it's not available in my country.

Huh. Still works for me. Gotta have something to do with the licencing deals. I don't think there are any for European countries, yet, and obviously there are for the U.S., if that's the case, you'll probably see Ultraman Z popping up on the Shouth! Factory streaming service soon enough.
