Status of Legend of the Seeker?

It took me awhile to get into Merlin, but I couldn't get into this show at all. One, its on late syndicated here, but even after seeing it on hulu, I wasn't impressed. Nov 7 is late for a second season. Are they on a limited season plan?

Do you get WGN? If so, the episodes are also repeated on Saturday afternoons ... should be about 4 pm your time.

It didn't take me long to get into them at all. It's filmed in the same area as Hercules and Xena, with much of the same crew, and guest stars. I'm enjoying the ride.

The second season is 22 episodes just like the first season was. I'm assuming the later start is just syndication oriented. It keeps them from going into extremely long periods of repeats during the actual season I think.

I'm kind of interested in season how S2 progresses. I was pretty critical of the show when it started, but I think the leads actually grew into their roles by the end of S1 and it was an enjoyable show to watch. One of the main threads in the second book (which then led into the subsequent books) was kind of pulled out by what their did in the first season of the tv show with having the Sisters of the Light be a known refuge that Kahlan helped others get to in the Midlands.

Plus they still have Denna alive in the show. I watched the S2 preview on the shows website and it looks pretty interested and having more Mord'Sith action is never a bad thing for the eyes ;)

Yeah, I just saw she will be guest starring here, and I saw a commercial for the dvd, so maybe this show does have a quiet following thus far.

^The show's done very well in the ratings; it just doesn't seem to have a lot of people talking about it online.

Yet another one of these shows that's shot in the forests of New Zealand yet isn't shown until 2 years after it's shot locally. :D

I'll keep watching but I still am having a hard time getting over how much they deviate from the books.

Well, how do you feel about FlashForward? All that show takes from the book is the basic concept of the whole world blacking out and seeing into its future, but they've changed everything else. The future they see is only 6 months ahead instead of 21 years, the cause is probably going to be different, and none of the characters are the same -- except one guy who has the same name as the book's lead character but is only a supporting character and is a thirty-something Brit rather than a middle-aged Canadian.

Over the decades, there have been plenty of book-based shows and films that have changed things profoundly from their source material. Something as close to the source as the Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter films is very much the exception rather than the rule.

It's a fun show to watch when you can't sleep. The ratings for the series premiere were huge, much better than The CW's show. The show is filmed in New Zealand, so it has a different feel.

I'm wondering If T'pol will be playing Nicci or some other sister of the dark...

I actually think that would be a pretty good fit.

I'll keep watching but I still am having a hard time getting over how much they deviate from the books. Ah well, it's still a pretty fun watch.

In all fairness... I do think that Jolene could fill out the roll that terry goodkind visualized to me what nicci would look like.

I haven't watched it yet even though I have it sitting on my PVR. I suspect that if I like it it will be due in no small part to the fact that I have not read the book.

I will freely admit that I am biased when it comes to The Seeker. I'm sure if I'd never read the books I would give it a lot more slack.
