There are quite a few actors that come back time and again to Trek. I realised just now that Lt. Carey of Star Trek Voyager has been a tactical officer during TNG's first season, I think in the episode Justice. He was an ensign then and not named. Could be the same character

Hey, I'm surprised no one's mentioned Data's amazingly successful attempt at "small talk" with Commander Hutchinson yet!

That IS one of Spiners best pieces of work in trek. Although, if Hutchinson hadn't been killed by those theives I would have done him in myself!

Probably isn't any more than Ensign and Captain Janeway were related or Nick Locarno and Tom Paris were long lost twin brothers with disturbingly similar backstories.

Favorite part was when the evil chick said "This starship is ours!"

And Picard replied "STARSHIP MINE!"



Also, Picard killing her...cuz, she's bad. He's pretty sure giant killer snowflakes can be reasoned with, though.
