Pretty much. I just assume the toilet removes the material under the floor, where it is stored for a period of time until a transport cycle removes it into a bulk matter storage tank, and it is recycled with the rest of the bulk matter via replicators as food or other material via the Replimat.

In earlier eras, the material was broken down and removed by robots, who, of course, placed it in cargo containers for use by the protein resequencers.

What ‘people’ are you referring to? Certain fans? CBS? Because this fan does think tie-in lit is meaningless. Why? Because CBS completely invalidated the litverse with PIC. So it’s not like they find it that important. And tie-in stuff like prequel comics aren’t canon anyway, so I’m not sure why you think this is such a big deal.

And CBS has made it clear that we can no longer trust our own eyes when watching these shows, so any visual changes we see are not the result of a changed timeline, but rather that our eyes are just faulty.

On an NX-class starship almost everything was broken into its molecules and recycled including waste. This was done by the bio-matter resequencer. (ENT: "Breaking the Ice")

That is an interesting sign, and points to transporters involved in 2280s waste reclamation procedures. What I mean is, the waste isn't jettisoned (or beamed) into nearby space, but rather reclaimed as bulk organic matter for a myriad of uses.

But in Spacedock, ships are usually powered down and waste reclamation is in the purview of the Spacedock officials. Taking a dump on an otherwise unused ship is not kosher, as it won't be reclaimed and will just sit underneath the toilet for an ungodly amount of time before getting noticed.

Meaningless? No. But the showrunners can decide to ignore it (if they even know something exists) anytime they want. Best to enjoy the stories for what they are, but don't be surprised if they get contradicted in a major way somewhere down the road.

The show did use some of the names created for the Shenzhou bridge crew by the author (and the actors were given the character outlines). So some of it was used, but that’s just an exception not a rule.

Any changes made during first contact, no matter how small would have had a butterfly effect. So either their memories adapted, or it was a predestined Paradox.

It's the same timeline. Riker and Troi used the NX-01 simulation on 1701-D. Granted "These are the Voyages..." wasn't a good episode, but it did establish Enterprise and TNG as being in the same timeline.

Okay? Since I've repeated this a lot, I'll repeat my POV again: differing timelines doesn't mean everything is different. Broad strokes remain mostly consistent, details differ. That there is a Riker and Troi in the NX-01 timeline doesn't mean they are the same Riker and Troi.

Once again, simply my POV. Other people see things differently. No harm, no foul.
