I’ve always wondered what the ship museum looks like. What we need is a scene that looks like this:

Lots of ships there for Picard to steal.![]()
This seems like an unnecessarily gratuitous call-out, firmly embedding the subliminal "Disco is CANON, bitches!" message into our collective fanboi psyches. Again, unnecessarily.
They could have alternated the holograms of the TOS Enterprise and the DSC Enterprise and made just about everybody happy.
It won't work.
Fandom likes to be angry. It won't work.
If the option is seeing nothing but DSC visual retcons(despite the fact that CBS still makes tons of money off the TOS look and sells books, comics, graphic novels, visual guides, licensed models, etc. faithfully replicating and honoring that look) then the fewer visual nods the better.
There was a way they could. Show both versions of the pre-refit Enterprise. But they won't do that.
Don’t know why. TOS merch still sells better than anything else. They are wanting to discreetly distance themselves from TOS.
Why?Don’t know why. TOS merch still sells better than anything else.
If anything they should be embracing it.
I'm really happy they did this!It shows this, then cycles to the Enterprise-D

No. Starships are a lot more sturdy.
I think it will. As soon as that Pike show so many keep demanding comes out the transition will be complete. In a way it's going to be a monkey's paw wish by some. They're never going to revisit how TOS looked again unless it's for something very specific and a one off. If they want to play in the TOS era going forward, and it looks like they actually do, it's going to be based on what has been done in Discovery season 1 and 2. The use of the new version of the Enterprise here I think helps solidifies that as well as the other Discovery connections in Picard so far.It won't work.
