That's why '7of 9' and 'Hugh' are a part of the cast . (Although I will be curious to see if '7 of 9' calls herself that after 20 years, or uses 'Anika'; and the same with 'Hugh' as he must have had a name prior to his assimilation as well.)
Hugh already looks nothing like he did on TNG. Changing his name would only create mass confusion. We have no idea when he was assimilated, anyway, or even if he's actually human. Some Borg were created as babies.
I always got the idea that the "Borg born as human and immediately given implants" idea (as shown in TNG - S2 "Q-Who") was abandoned for - "Any babies in a society being assimilated are immediately put in a maturation chamber so they can become what the Collective considers a 'useful' Drone" IE - The Borg race ONLY acquires new members via assimilation, there are no 'grown from scratch' Borg.
Whenever I dream about school, or being at home, It's always the last house or school I was at, not the latest or current, but the people there aren't the people I knew at the time.
Of course you're free to ignore whatever aspects of canon you'd like. Just don't expect everyone else to do the same.
Were you making love to Scarlett on a bed made of Lego's, in the back of the truck when it transformed into a corvette?
The D is a great, innovative and timeless design, Imho. But I prefer the E - its long and looks fast. I really hope we get to see some familiar ship designs eventually, like the Prometheus, Nova/Rhode Island, Defiant, Intrepid, Dauntless, or so. Or STO designs like we had with the Odyssey class in the comic.

I’ve always preferred the Galaxy, the Sovereign looks like they stole parts from the Connie refit, Intrepid, Excelsior then stomped on it.
