I really like the trailer. Looking forward to watching Universe.
I still have serious misgivings about the Stargate writers being able to pull off the types of stories they're talking about.
Agreed. But that visual asthetic is cool, though. If that's the route they go, I applaud them for doing so. It's what Enterprise should have done.Or maybe they're just using rapid jump-cuts to give the appearance they are doing so. And even if they ape the aesthetic (not hard to do), it doesn't mean SGU will be like BSG in any substantive way.Looks like they're seriously trying to imitate Galactica's visual aesthetic
But, yes, just because it looks like BSG doesn't mean it is BSG. I still have serious misgivings about the Stargate writers being able to pull off the types of stories they're talking about. I just don't see these writers being able to pull off BSG-type stories. But we shall see.
That preview did nothing for me.
Same here. Not sure what we were supposed to feel from seeing people running around in dark corridors. How is mass panic an exciting tease for a TV series? That said I did like seeing LDP and the gate at the end.

I haven't been paying that much attention; are they talking about story ideas that go beyond the monster-of-the-week/canned episode ideas that are standard for Stargate?
That sounds interesting, but will really put the burden on the characters to be compelling in their own right, something I havent' seen a lot out of Stargate lately and when they've managed it, it's had a lot to do with the particular actors (RDA, Flanigan). The series is billed to be much more serialized and character-driven than SG1 or SGA, and will deal less with alien contact and more with survival.
