The title card? I guess it's alright. Make room for more show, which we'd have even more of, if they got rid of the kind of long and boring intro.

It's not really worthy of being called an intro. It's just there.

My biggest gripe with the short-form intros is that I have no idea who the main characters are supposed to be, especially in larger casts like SGU's.

I have to admit outside of Rush and Lt. Boobs I haven't figured out who any of the characters are played by (well except Telford of course).

Of course, unless the show actually puts their name under their picture or has a _____ ____ AS _____ listing even full credits wouldn't necessarily tell you who's who.

Is there a full theme? I mean they did make one didn't they at least for the DVD. Unlike most fans I could understand SG-1 and Atlantis going with a short intro. It gives more $$$ to Sci-Fi which means the show survives.

But it's a bit retarded not to have an intro for the DVD or to have a previously if it isn't a two parter. Waste of space and time

There's a 30-second end credits theme that you can hear when watching the episodes online. Joel Goldsmith says there's a 1-minute version of the end credits that he expects will be on the DVD versions of the episodes. He also says that he has composed no main title theme (beyond the 5-second bumper) and none is planned for the DVD.

I have always hated the short intro am old fashioned and love me a good intro. Shows such as LOST & JERICHO were right to do such intros because it works for them but after the debut season and maybe some cast culling it would be nice to have some sort of a 30 intro for SG-U.

I agree with the others who posted before me in saying "what opening intro?" There really is none.

But then, I was never crazy about the opening intros of any TV show to begin with, and I really like this recent trend of just getting rid of them completely.

If only we'd have more shows without music altogether. I've always hated music in movies and TV. Without closed captions, I can't understand the people speaking--which is supposed to be the point of the story in the first place.

The only show I used to watch where I encountered that problem was Law & Order: Criminal Intent. The "criminal" music was the same every episode and was so loud that I wanted to strangle somebody myself.

I don't have a problem with the short intro, it's just that the music isn't that good. Same thing with Defying Gravity. Short intro, but annoying music.

The ending theme (I watch on Hulu often) is the only one I recognize, and I sort of like it. I think of it as "Destiny's Theme", but then, the ship is my favorite character so I'm biased.

Yeah, I know what you mean about L&O:CI. I stopped watching that series for that very reason. Putting up with the annoyance just isn't worth it for me.

In the past, Atlantis and SG-1 tried the short intro theme, and there was fan backlash because they wanted the full intro themes back. They gave in and brought the full intros back.

I think Atlantis would have gotten away with it if they had gone with a short intro from the beginning. The problem with SG-1 & Atlantis is that they had already established really kickass theme songs, so people were bummed when they were cut.
