Stargate Universe Concept Art

I suppose it would have been too much to hope for concept designs of the Ancient ship itself (meaning the exterior of it). Oh well.

Um, man that looks, um, Ancient, as in, really old and not something you'd think the Ancients would have built.

From the looks of it, it appears like maybe they built it during their reign in the Milky Way, and not the Pegasus, cause it looks nothing like what we've seen in Pegasus. In fact, it looks like nothing we've ever seen before that was Ancient!

I would have preferred that Ancient look as found in the head sucker things, and the stone push buttons as found at Dakara and that failed time travel looping device. That look to me is how the Milky Way"Ancients designed stuff, would have been nice if the ship was like that.

Maybe even something radical, something like that big Whale beacon thing we saw in Star Trek IV, a ship designed lookin like that would have been bad ass, imagine, it could be huge on the inside, wondrous, with all kinds of kick ass Ancient stuff and controls, it could have been really alien.

From the pics though it looks like they aren't taking any chances at all.

I like the alieness of it but it'd be nice for them to go even further. The layout of the bridge is too derivative of Star Trek. They need to start this show figuring out what's been done on Trek and do the opposite.

The reason for that is that this ship was millions of years before even Atlantis.

Didn't they say this ship was supposed to be unmanned and automated? If so, why the chairs?

Boring, yet still less stupid looking than the bridge from the new Star Trek movie.

It should blend the aurora and Ori ship. The main feature of all ancient ships is the commanders chair surrounded by stations in a circular formation

Which would be when they were in the Milky Way, yet it looks nothing like Milky Way Ancient tech like the stone controls already mentioned witnessed on Dakara and the time looping device, and the Ancient head suckers.

But that wouldn't be kewl looking. :p

I don't want to add to the voice of negativity here, but I don't see anything here that excites me. Not much to go on, yet, though.

Its just a couple of doodles. Interesting, but it is too early to see it in context. I mean, the early concept art of DS9 looked fugly, yet the end result looked pretty good.
