Having lesbian soldiers or just lesbians in general is totally gutless. They don't dare upset their heterosexual male audience with gay guys, and certainly not macho type gay guys.![]()
John Barrowman was interviewed on TV a while back saying he had auditioned for the Will & Grace and didn't get the part as he 'wasn't gay enough'. Though more interestingly he said he felt the studio weren't happy to have a gay actor, and the audience would be happier to have a straight actor playing a gay man.
Which I thought was a little... weird? Though now he's the lead on Torchwood, not just openly gay, but in intimate scenes with a co star.
And on the Atlantis subject...
...I'd have to say Zalenka. I wouldn't care about anything such as having a thing fo Elizabeth... I'd want him coming out to Rodney and admitting their tension was all sexual.
I'd watch just for the reaction.
No wait, forget it, it would make me sad that the show is ending instead of wildly indifferent.
