I agree that it's lame that Stargate villains have to be made so artificially lame so that humans can beat them. It's Janeway vs the Borg all over again. The Goa'uld could have been clever and unified instead of fractuous lunatics with terrible fashion sense who were so stupid the effectively beat themselves. The Ori, well I don't think there was any way to salvage them.
Arrrgh! One of the biggest developments that the franchise allowed to happen, is the
idiot-fication of the Ancients. These people lived for millions of years, in multiple galaxies, yet 10 yr spacefaring Earthlings are able to achieve feats that escaped them? Even the Jaffa-slaves and human incubators were able to learn how to use the Dakara creation device to zap people. And they did it without any help from Sam or Jacob/Selmac, or Ba'al, as none of them would be dumb enough to tell them how it worked. If the creation device that was employed in Pegasus were destroyed early on during the war, surely another could've been built. You would'nt actually
need to build a full size one-heck, a miniature version would work fine, using it through the gate, or onboard warships. Program it to eradicate Wraith dna, and shoot! You would'nt need to iradicate all Wraith, since they'd see how you could wipe them out in the blink of an eye, and back down.
But of course, no one can top our shining Earth heroes. Not even the people responsible for creating them.
