^ They presumably stuck to their own galaxy, since our intrepid heroes weren't around to knock on their door and invite them over to the Milky Way.

I was actually hoping that he was going to turn out to be his own grandfather. It would have been great, especially with the foreshadowing from Carter earlier in the movie where she tells him that he is a living grandfather paradox.

I was fearing it would turn out that way. Especially considering in the beginning Grampa Mitchell was so adamant on taking the boat on such a zig-zag course and when Ba'al and his Jaffa board the boat, he's the only one armed and he knew to toss the bomb. But thankfully, they didn't. Really, 1, tired cliche, and 2, how icky is it to bang your own grandmother. This sort of thing shold only be done under comdeic circumstances like in Futurama.

Yeah I was thinking it was Mitchell that was the sea captain, but It threw me for a loop that he wasn't. A good twist I suppose.

I gave it a 4.

It was great for an episode, but for a movie it wasn't that big of a deal. Not enough Teal'c (and I mean the real Teal'c, not the first prime BS) to suit me but what can ya do? The look on Ba'al's face when he saw Mitchell upon stepping through the Stargate was priceless, he was so arrogant. Shame to see him go though....I mean, if there are any more movies. If that was it then he should have died....arrogant bastard! :p:lol:

What is Old Cam up to? Is he just living in hiding? Kinda reminded me of "Benders Big Score" when Fry goes back in time and lives out his life. I mean, Cam saved the day, but what did he do after he killed Ba'al? Did he travel around the world with his grandpa?

Here's where the movie ended up being a little short, I thought. I would have liked to have seen a much older Browder in the sixties using the Stargate to travel secretly to destroy the machine, perhaps ending with him leaving the photo on Cameron's locker.

I just felt the writers/producers were a little easy on the ending.

But if you recall from season one's "Solitudes", O'Neill and Carter found a jaffa frozen at the Antarctic gate. If I recall correctly, it was also mentioned somewhere that they were using the Antarctic gate and then lost it, so Ra eventually returned and brought his own gate from somewhere else.

^^ Thanks..it's been a long while since I've seen that ep. Sci Fi appears to avoid showing the early seasons in the evening slot. I don't recall running across any eps before s4. They're currently in season 8, and I simply can't remember what they were running back in May.
Yes! Sci Fi has season 1 SG1 on for today's marathon, and Solitudes is running now. :techman:

I wonder what happened to the Ori in Baal's timeline.

Presumably they never found the Ancient communication device, so Daniel and Vala never let slip that the Ancients had moved to our galaxy. So, they would have carried on as they were.

Same as the Wraith, really.

^ I wonder would the change in our history affect the Ori because they are on a different plane of exsistance so maybe they were just still dead.

I don't think different plane of existance is equal to a different universe, so in the changed timeline, they should still be dead. Besides, based on the infinite number of possibile timelines, if the actions of one timeline would affect the Ori in all timelines, then the Ori should have never been a problem for Earth because in one of the many possible timelines, someone was bound to have killed them very early on... maybe Merlin used his device when he first came up with it.

I have to say, I really enjoyed the ep - I went in with no particular pre-conceptions, and I was pleasantly surprised!

Then I watched the Tudors afterwards. Yay.

(Maybe the story took place during the events of The Daedalus Variations?)

^It's not clear exactly when it took place but it must have been after "Search and Rescue" and "The Seed" since Carter would probably have been in quarantine for a while.

Carter and Mitchell are both full Colonels in Continuum, despite the mistake in the credits.

Oh, and James Bond - very good point.

I haven't watched Stargate since the season after RDA left. I totally lost interest in it. Knowing that he was in this movie made me watch it. I thought it was great (no, not because of his brief cameo). I really enjoyed it. It had lots of stuff in it that I enjoy in stories - time travel, aus, things not going right, pathos of characters that should be together not being together. I enjoyed the cameos, particulalry of Don S Davis, who I loved as Hammond. And as a big William Devane fan it was great to see him, too. As I was losing interest in SG1 a long time ago (after about season 5) I only had the briefest inkling that Vala was a Gould, so that was interesting to see. I thought the shots filmed in the ice were great and the idea of the Stargate on the ship was novel. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

I loved the film, was anyone else reminded of Benders big score though, with a time traveling duplicate hero with a beard working on a ship?

That we know of anyway!

Ba'al's face was priceless as he got shot at the end.

Like "how the fuck did you do that?"

I thought it was a decent episode. It reminded me a lot of "Mobius" of course but I'd say it was a lot better. And WAY better than "The Ark of Truth."

It was nice seeing Jack O'Neill & General Hammond back again. (R.I.P. DSD.:()

Lots of good action.

I wish there was more Teal'c & Vala. Maybe next movie.
