A proposed new StarShip Design for a proposed but Un-Commissioned Show at the time.
Not currently, but he has a rich Star Trek legacy that many in the fan community value for his contributions in the past.Andrew Probert doesn’t even work for any Star Trek productions.
Tell me, have you ever been diagnosed as anhedonic?Andrew Probert doesn’t even work for any Star Trek productions. I could have made drawings of ships and it would have had the same level of official-ness: None.

But, he's not a random "No Name Star Trek Artist", he's a celebrated ship designer who was important for the creation of some of the most important & popular ships.Doesn’t really change my point.

e.g. The TMP ReFit Enterprise, The Galaxy Class Enterprise-D.
And when Mike Sussman seeked him out to do some Preliminary Concept Art for free/fun, here's what you get.
So yeah, he's not on the Current Star Trek Payroll, but that's not the important part.
It's about what he can do & bring to the design through his sense of design aesthetic given his historical contributions to Star Trek.
He's a important & prolific Star Trek StarShip designer who has true important lineage, that's why he was asked to help.
It doesn't have to be a current Star Trek Artist, it's showing off some preliminary designs to the fans for a show that they're trying to pitch.
Nothing More, Nothing less.
Then why are you so upset at it?I know who he is. My point still stands. He is not currently working in that capacity so any concept art he’s created isn’t relevant to any new show (or pipe-dream of a show) coming down the pipeline.
Then why are you so upset at it?
Who cares if what he made is used down the line or not; it's to get initial rough draft ideas down onto paper.
Any refinement will come once the show is taken up and if he's hired or not.
Okay. The rest of us are just enjoying intial rough draft sketches. You’re confusing being upset to speaking of reality.
Sure, whatever. You made your point.I know what the intent is. Still doesn’t change my point.
Okay, but that's not on Probert, that's on Mike Sussman and the rest of the team trying to pitch the President Archer show. And the reality is that this show has little chance of being made. Probert can draw all the concept art he wants, but that won’t change anything if the pitch is passed over.
Let’s move it.Wouldn't this be a better fit for Fan Art rather than Tech?
