Starfleet females dressing code

This is probably a girl’s thing so I guess it’s okay for guys to ignore this thread. However there is one thing that bothers me about JJ’S trek universe and this include the movie and comics.

it’s like star fleet has a dressing code saying that all women must wear their hair in high ponytails. I kind of find it ridiculous as the TNG females, the most noticeably been Dr Beverly Crusher and Deanna Troi had their hair down on several occasions.

Anytime I read the ongoing series , Uhura, Rand and the rest of the female characters always have their hair in an awful ponytail or have their hair up and tightly twisted.

It just too unrealistic for women to be told how to wear their hair in the 24 century, Heck ...even 21st century female police officeres wear their hair down . However star fleet females even sleep with their high pony tails....am sure spock/uhura fan we know what am talking about....remember star trek ongoing? 6;)

In all honesty how unrealisitc is that?

Uhura is the only female Starfleet officer with a ponytail in ST09 and there are plenty of female hairdos in TOS, not merely Rand's sticked-up one.

This is all too hairy for me.

It's not about functionality or women's rights... it's about what looks good on the big screen. So you have short skirts, and hair up. I mean, T'Pol and Seven didn't wear those catsuits because they were "efficent" or "logical"

Specifically, they're trying to copy the 60s loook of TOS with the women's uniforms and hairstyles. May not be realistic or practical, but it's what we're stuck with.

You also have to figure that certain fashions may be popular again including the high pony tail so in reality Starfleet may extend to its female officers a choice of what ever is popular and in style for the times.

This is photoshop right?

There is no Kelvin book coming out?

Picard lets his female officers wear whatever the hell they want. You seriously think Riker is going to complain about the revealing outfits Deanna wear to the bridge? He loves them!

IDK, I use ponytails to keep my long hair out of my way when I'm working. I would think the rule of hair off the collar would be a realistic portrayal of life in the military as well.
