Starfleet academy on one disc???

Anyone ever get Starfleet academy working off of one DVD-ROM? I tried and failed spectacularly. Any information on this, I would love to get it working on one DVD disk either with or without checkov's lost missions.....

I tried a few times with mine, a few software experiments on the laptop but never got it to work, it kept freezing during the install or the startup after install.

Still just using the 5 discs here (4 original and Chekov's expansion pack).

I did it just fine. Klingon Academy is whats difficult to put on a DVD. You need to make a folder on your harddrive and copy the entire contents on the first disc into the folder. You then go to each disc and copy the movie files into their correct place inside the folder on your HDD. You then burn the contents of the folder to dvd. I don't remember what name your suppose to give the disc but I assume it's just the name that appears when you insert the first disc. I don't even think it matters. I just made this out on my own without the use of the internet. But it is possible.

I had the opposite problem, i got my six disc version of klingon academy onto one DVD and it worked perfectly and without any issues, but SF academy seemed to be a bit of a problem last time i tried it.

Surprising. I had to download some patch files from some klingon academy forum that would fix the game so it could work off of one dvd.

What the problem with KA was that it looked for the name of the disc. Ie "KA_01, KA_02"

Starfleet Academy only looked for the drive name. So you could put all the movie files on one disc and it would always find them. Unlike KA which even if the movie files were there, it wouldn't look for them if the disc was not named 01, 02 or what ever disc the appropriate movies were on.

If I'm not mistaken, I recall that Star Fleet Academy was released AGAIN, on a single DVD-ROM with the expansion pack.

It also had full res DVD-VIDEO of all of the intro and cut scenes. Anyone here have it?

Yeah i managed to get the DVD version way back in 2006 from eBay, unfortunately at the time i could not get it to run after installation......now I'm going to have to try and find it to give it a try again.

Well i found the game, still cant get it to run, looks like a in game media player problem, i checked the movies and they all run fine with WMP. but they don't look any different to the movies on the multi disc CD version.

Here is a little snap of the disc and what came in the box...got the Academy sound track as a bonus...

One disc? Wow! That's outlandish!

Too true! My cardboard CD ROM disk holder, with the 6 game disks was beginnign to get a bit tedious to open up and store stuff in.

Whats worse is that new games come on MULTIPLE DVDS!!!! ARGHGGHGHGHGHGHGHGGH! MS Flight Sim X is awful to install! ;)
