News Starfleet Academy Nielsen Ratings

may not have to go that far, audiences need the drama after all, but the 31st century should be depicted as fantastical to us as our timeframe would be to somebody from 1026 AD.
But that needs a human connection. I can still read a letter from
A Roman soldier to his family and relate to his desires and struggles.

Why is there this drive to disconnect the human? No emotions, no therapy, no drama except when specifically mandated.

Don't forget, technology solves everything!!!

Bit like Daniels in Enterprise. And he was from ... a century before this show? While obviously not near the power level of a bona fide Q, he seemed more than capable of their basic parlor tricks (traversing space and time at will).
He was also apparently capable of coming back from the dead.

I assumed you would watch and actually hear his sources.

He was citing Paramount Plus' Top Ten Lists versus the Nielsen ratings. The American and European collections.

5th to 1st in Europe and trending.

6th in the UK.
I make it a point not to give random youtuber's clicks.

Do people really find themselves rewatching NuTrek?

The only show I've gone back to for a second watch is Lower Decks.

I certainly have.

I find all of PRO and nearly all of LD past the firt 5 eps is excellent. SNW S1 & S2 are fantastic minus maybe the B plot in Serene Squall. S3 slipped but was still mostly fine. PIC S3 was really good, and going out on a high certainly helps. But S1 was real good up until the ending. S2 was kind of a mess, but Q was still Q, Orla Brady was fantastic, as was Pill (again), and the resolutions for the La Sirena crew bothered me not at all. And any show bashing ICE deserves flowers.

DISCO was more of a roller coaster. But I still think MOST of season 1 is really good. They blew both the MU & PU finales, though. But Context is for Kings, Choose Your Pain, Magic To Make The Sanest Man Go Mad, and Into the Forest I Go are all very rewatchable. Even the first couple MU ones are pretty good. I feel the same way about S3, though the ending was worse. The start of S2 was bright (Brother, New Eden) and If Memory Serves was fantastic. S4 was shakier but ended really well, though the Tarka plotline was kinda weak. S5 was pure meh.

YMMV, of course.

But while I adore TOS, TNG, and DS9, and have everything but Disco & SNW on disc, I watch random old eps sometimes, and much of new Trek holds up just fine compared to some of the TOS S2 I am in now. Though perhaps not the classic ones (Amok Time, Morror Mirror, Tribbles, Doomsday Machine, Journey To Babel). But some certainly do.

The last SFA ep (The Life of the Stars) is a classic for me. More so the more I think about it.

SNW has had more that it's share. I'd certainly put "Momento Mori," "Ad Astra per Aspera," "Those Old Scientists," and "Hegemony" in the classic category. And I'd say 5-10 more that are close. With only 1-2 real duds.

That's TOS S1 level batting average. Or DS9 S6. TNG 3-5. Top shelf Trek.

There is way too much "let me prove my Trek cred" by picking stuff apart going on these days. Or clickbait podcasts. Or agenda driven RWNJ down voting. That all is true. But people who are critical should not be lumped into that bag. I like epidodic better, for instance.

There are plotholes. And coarse language. And more gore & death. And darker themes. And kid /YA targeting. And adult cartoons. Some of it might even (lovingly) poke fun at certain Trek tropes or history, or (gasp!) change a thing here or there. And they will make mistakes. That can all be criticized fairly.

But there were cringe moments before. And mistakes. Your Trek wasn't perfect either. Whatever iteration that was.

I just get tired of the "My Trek is better than this Trek" tropes in whatever form they take. Being NuTrek vs old. Freaking out on any type of memberberry. Whatever.

Sorry for the rant. YMMV, of course.

I re-watch Strange New Worlds and Lower Decks.

Also the Kelvinverse movies.

I've rewatched Picards' pilot a few times because I love the world it's set up.
