News Starfleet Academy Coming to P+

I could see the Doctor being that but Reno would be a terrible instructor. Most of her tech knowledge is thousands of years out of date and frankly she just doesn't strike me as a good teacher. She has to much of a loner, play by my own rules vibe to her. I see her still wanting to be out their on a ship solving engineering problems. Not cooped up in a classroom.

The Doctor will teach the kids book smarts, Reno will teach the kids street smarts

We have to take what we get.
I'll give starfleet Academy a chance.
Legacy, a series with captain Seven, would be nice for sure but I don't really need it.
We already got plenty Seven Of Nine stuff, maybe it's enough?

Interest has spiked for me since finding out Picardo is in this. Makes a lot of sense and I really, really enjoy the EMH.
I assume they're going to do a "Data in Picard S3" to the Doctor, making him some kind of hybrid of all previous incarnations (with added bells and whistles). Still not sure it makes much sense to reuse a program from over 800 years ago in the Academy. If they do, though, I propose they also include Landru as an Emeritus Professor of the Dark Arts Evil Computers.

Anyway, Picardo is a great actor, so this adds something to the show.

I was looking forward to this show before, but getting Picardo onboard and Tig Notaro is really, really exciting stuff.
I hope it's the version of 'The Doctor' fron the VOY episode Living Witness - the timeframe would certainly match up. :)

I presume it’s less a reactivation and more that the EMH (I never like typing ‘the Doctor’, wrong show) is effectively immortal and has been active for over 8 centuries.

A teacher with almost a millennia of collected experience would surely be a fantastic resource in an academy?
