Once threads get more than a few pages in they congeal into Generic Trek Discussion threads. Look at the Picard forum, and no matter what people started talking about it always devolves into "GIMME LEGACY" or "TERRY DOESN'T KNOW WHAT 'REFIT' MEANS"
Interest has spiked for me since finding out Picardo is in this. Makes a lot of sense and I really, really enjoy the EMH.
I was looking forward to this show before, but getting Picardo onboard and Tig Notaro is really, really exciting stuff.

I assume they're going to do a "Data in Picard S3" to the Doctor, making him some kind of hybrid of all previous incarnations (with added bells and whistles). Still not sure it makes much sense to reuse a program from over 800 years ago in the Academy. If they do, though, I propose they also include Landru as an Emeritus Professor of the
Anyway, Picardo is a great actor, so this adds something to the show.

I presume it’s less a reactivation and more that the EMH (I never like typing ‘the Doctor’, wrong show) is effectively immortal and has been active for over 8 centuries.

Most likely. And I'm guessing they're going to establish at some point in the past eight hundred years he got aging subroutines installed or something.
I wouldn't be surprised if he did it to himself to appear more austere.
I assume he can change his appearance at will. Unless his chameleon circuit got stuck or something.

I’m sure earlier, like way back in this thread, that I predicted legacy characters could return as holos. I’ll have to dig it out just to make myself feel clever.
Have you watched ST: Prodigy? The Doctor is in season 2, in a relatively substantial role.The Doctor was my favorite character in VOY, I liked him even better than Seven Of Nine.
So I'm really lokking forward to it...
