I respect real trekkies, I do not respect those that would call this bastarization of trek anything more than a sick joke. IF you like this movie dont bother going to a convention you have no place amongst real trekkies.

Wow, I really enjoyed the movie last night when I saw it, came here today to see what the truly devout, wearing costumes to conventions crowd thought.

I guess it must be a nice view from that throne of judgment you sit up on out there in space. Too bad someone gave you a loudspeaker to broadcast your message of hate to the rest of us.

Funny that Trek has a strong message of peace and here you are spewing hate about the new movie.

I am defending my show agasint imposters and traitors, this isnt the 23rd century i dont have to be enlightened this is the 21st Century and im entitled to be just as violent as I damn well please. WE dont get enlightened untill 2061 this is 2009.
Oh that's right, we cannot be enlightened in any way. Not until Janary the 1st, 2061 at precisely midnight, of course. Then everybody cannot be unenlightened in any way. This we know for sure, because it's simply the way it is. And what is, is, and cannot be any other way.

I'm sorry I doubted you.

No i still go to the smaller ones, the one every year in dallas for example, Im well aware the days of the big conventions are dead, that doesnt escape me, and I didnt miss the concept of TOS, the crew was out there exploring to better themselves and to protect humanity from the klingons, romulands, and the doomsday machines. This movie might as well be star wars. If you like this movie your a sell out plain and simple

Just curious, what do you think of the lighter fare in RealTrek™? Are such episodes discarded in your personal canon because they don't fit your ideal of what the perfect Star Trek episode should be, or do you accept them as elements within a broader tapestry? There's more to Trek than we saw in the film, and it'd be unfortunate if subsequent productions didn't explore those missing elements, but it was an entertaining flick that RealTrek™ could learn more than a few lessons from. It's a 2hr film, not a summation of the franchise (or even TOS) to date, it doesn't have to be all Treks to all people.

What about the fact abrams stated he didnt care of the fans liked it, because we would pay out of curiosicty to see it. Well im proud to say I didnt pay to see it, I spent 5 hours downloading a screenie, I ddint waste my money, yes i pirated the movie and im damn glad i did. Trek is for Trekkies, not for anyone else, I dont give two shits if your friends like it, they can go watch Star Wars for all I fucking care.

go and ask them, the only thing i want done is this movie destoryed[sic]. me and alot[sic] of other like minded people are planning to remove the movies from store shelves when dvd launch comes, if you find a shortage around Fort Worth area you may thank me.

Decaf, dude.

You can't find "a lot of other like minded people."

What goes on in the "Fort Worth area" is, mercifully, of no concern to me.

where not just in fort worth, there from a webring of mine, alot of old trekkies from the glory days. We are a group that was active on the Offical Star Trek Chatroom before it was closed down. I have about 200 people in America that belive like I do, and we are willing to take the steps to ensure this movie fails. I am arranging pickets this friday at the local theater near me to protest the movie. And Ill do the thing in my Star Fleet uniform, just to get the point across.

:guffaw::lol::guffaw::lol::guffaw::lol: Can't wait to see this on Utube!!:guffaw::lol::guffaw::lol::guffaw::lol:

Because its not trek, its so far away from Trek, I have every right to hate it with a passion.

no its not a joke this is not a put on, I hate this movie so much im willing to escalate to protest and minimal violence to stop it

And these discrepancies have been explained by the writers and producers of this film over and over and over.

Shit. The differences were explained by the characters within the movie. In more ways than one. I find it both amusing and a bit sad that fans of Star Trek, the property once known for its out there ideas and above average intelligent viewers, can't get a stranglehold on "starting over fresh."

Wow.
You are actually going to commit violence because you dislike a film.

And I am part of a group that hates this movie, I am a follower of Cannon and the idea's laid down, and I have no respect for anyone that would dare call this movie more than a parody.
A follower of Cannon? and the idea's laid down?

I have no respect for anyone that would dare call this movie more than a parody.

Well, then, at least we are mutual in our regard for one another. :)
Too subtle, Dennis. Too subtle..

because there is no reason to reboot Star Trek, they had better ideas.

details where given for the 25th, 29th and 31st Centuries and would have been great, but instead here we are rebooting something that wasn't broken, I dont care if the outside world doesn't like Trek, they never have and Id rather they stayed out of my Trek. Paramount didn't do this for fans they did this for money and have lost my respect.

I downloaded it and watched it, I hate it with a firey passion.

To put it this way so you understand

Id rather live through 9/11 20 more times than see this movie again

Id rather be told i have cancer than see this movie again

Id rather see world war 3 and humanity eradicated than see this movie again

good luck with that . . .

even if you buy every dvd and burn it, you're still giving your money to Paramount. They won't be able to tell which dollars are from you and which are from people who actually want to watch the movie, and thereby you defeat the purpose of the distruction by adding to Paramount's profits and sales numbers and increasing the chance of a sequel and additional releases etc.

It doesn't matter what the writers and producers say. Was it clearly shown that this is an alternative universe in the movie?

For example we know that the mirror universe is an alternate universe because we saw them trasition to the other universe. Saw our real universe characters interact and acknowledge that it is a alternate universe. Then we see them return to the real universe. If an average non-trek fan was watching Mirror Mirror they would know that the mirror universe is not the same as the real universe.

If an average non-trek fan was watching Fake Trek would they know that the alternate universe Kirk is NOT the same one as seen in Star Trek and the Movies?

unless we dont buy it and we just load up on the movies and run out of the stores, I have no problem stealing these to destroy them, you dont understand how much i hate them, id be willing to go to prision if it meant i could harm this movie

You know, I honestly wish him all the luck with that.

Because how would the crowd react if they see him standing there, sprouting nonsense in his Star Trek uniform, saying the movie is not for real Star Trek fans? Their reasoning would be simple: If he hates it, I must very much like it!

... And the sales will go up another notch. :D

No I would rather have watched my girl friend and child get raped and shot than watch this, it would have been easier to bare honestly.

Would you... watch your girlfriend and child get raped if it meant you could harm this movie?

Because your posts are getting weirder by the minute, dude. Seriously. Stop it. Please.

Hmm, it's not Trek?

How so?

Spaceships? Check. Starfleet? Check. TOS crew? Check. Outlandish idea that most people will find confusing? Check. Near death experience solved with science? Check. Captain Kirk fighting something? Check.

Yep, this sure isn't Star Trek.
