Well, of course, I didn't realize. Your opinion is fact, my opinion is not. I would argue with you, except, that IS how Ze Internetz work anyway. So no point in arguing :)

I said nothing about my own thoughts regarding the Cats trailers; I said that the notion that said trailers are nightmare fuel is incorrect based on fact.

Aside from the fact that the movie has done away with the 'costume-y' elements of the characters' appearances, there is little difference between it and the stage show as far as how they are being brought to life.

Worked for decades. Why change it?
That is what they did for the movie, just with CGI instead of makeup and costumes.
I am a bit shocked how much worse the reviews of this are compared to TFA.
I will admit, the reaction has made me a bit more cautious, but I'm still looking forward to it.
The only time I'm really concerned with reviews is if it's something I'm on the fence about. There are some things, like Star Trek, Star Wars, Marvel, ect. that I will go see no matter what the reviews are like.

How can you tell others what causes them discomfort? I don't think I've seen many folks fuller of themselves than you are.

Rejecting a ridiculous notion based on facts doesn't make me "full of myself".

We're off-topic, though, and this is going nowhere besides, so I'm moving on.

I know people who had nightmares from Home Alone...the brain is a weird place, and there is no way of stating what will or will not be nightmare fuel for different individuals.

A show isn't going to become one of the longest-running productions in Broadway history if it sucks.

Pivoting this back to the topic at hand, I've just watched Return of the Jedi with the foreknowledge afforded me of Palpatine's survival (explained or not), and seeing the celebration montage didn't have as much weight knowing that it wasn't a permanent triumph, but that's kind of the point of the Sequel Trilogy as a whole and I'm very much looking forward to seeing TRoS with the events of RotJ fairly fresh in my memory.

All in good fun. When trailer first dropped, it was pure gold to see the twitter posts and all the memes that came out.

Oh, totally cool. No judgment. Since I heard there was going to be a Cats movie, I avoided most everything having to do with it. I just can't do it.

BUT, that does not mean that people automatically have to love it. Not everyone who sees it is going to love it. Some are going to be turned off by it from the word go and choose not to see it. Others aren't even going to know about it. You can't make sweeping statements when art is subjective.

I honestly find a lot of Andrew Lloyd Weber's works unpalatable. Cats is the worst offender. But that's just my opinion. (:p)
No cookies for you! Phantom of the Opera is one of the best musicals out there.

;)

It's almost like suckitude of art is subjective and based upon personal experiences. Kind of like nightmares.

Edit: Ninj'ad! @Campe98 your odds of cookies continues to decrease...
