Star Wars The Old Republic

I honestly don't remember seeing that little loading bar under his health bar, but it gets confusing visually fighting him with the lightsabers flashing around...

<<This, although the main benefit of pre-ordering is the 12x xp on all class missions until the new add on goes live , you can raise your characters mainly with the class quest without having to bog yourself down with planetary quests. >>

I'm thinking about splurging and buying the Revan Expansion. But you're saying I get 12X XP on *only* the primary story missions? So if I'm running around doing side quests, no bonus? If I kill a random dude or play space combat, no bonus?

No, he's saying with the 12x bonus you'll get so much xp that you can ignore the side quests completely and just do the class quests.

I found I did most of the sidequests as they were fun enough and gave good EXP. I never left a planet without leaving any of them behind.

Every quest is the same. Go here. Kill this or touch this.

Well, I bought the expansion, but nothing new has appeared when I log into the game. It was supposed to start X18 XP and unlock the Hutt Cartel Expansion but I don't see anything different or new worlds or anything...

OK, I see what's happening now, when I finish a story quest it's the X18 multiplier only.

And Kira started a mission for me going to Nar Shaddaa; is that the Hutt Cartel expansion?

^ No, the Hutt expansion is based around the planet Makeb and unlocks at lvl 50.

Makeb was already on my map before I bought the expansion...

BTW I beat Darth Angral! I was two levels above him, it was my third time on the ship, and I killed him on my third try this third time! I had about one bar of life left

You know what might help?
Find a sparing partner to practice interupts.

It should be helpful to have an opponent who isn't hellbent on killing you who cycles his special attacks in a progressivly harder way based on your reaction times to help you improve.

When you can handle another player you will be able to handle any NPC which are far more predictable with their attack patterns.

I don't mind Taris that much. I actually think it's quite good on the Imp side as it seems what you are doing actually matters.

I keep forgetting to ask this. At the beginning the game I came across item modification tables all the time, even on missions. But I haven't seen one in weeks! I've been carrying all these mods I never get to put on. Where the hell are the tables? I don't see any on my ship, or on the Republic Fleet...

^ The mod stations on the fleet are in the crew skills area.

You actually don't need them to put in or take out modifications for your weapons and armour. Just ctrl+right click the moddable item to do it. The only thing you can't do is add an augment slot into items, though most people don't bother until they they can use the highest level augments due to the costs of adding and upgrading augment slots.

^Yet another case of this game being bad at teaching new players. I swear I've learnt about 100x more from asking random questions in chat than through the in-game tutorials.

However, in this instance I think it's partly down to the Ctrl+RB thing being implemented post-beta. IIRC the original intent was to have to use the mod stations for everything. And yeah, the augs are pretty pointless until you get into endgame content. I'm also not crazy about how expensive it it to extract higher level mods.

Yup. With Strongholds now taking up the bulk of the credit-sink slack, I think they should make mod removal free for subs.

It almost makes too much sense for EA not to. I mean, like I say, as a credit sink, it's kind of obsolete now, and I bet they could pick-up several thousand subs just by implementing it.
