That the Empire had technology around that was never used.

Vader mentions putting a tracker on the Falcon in ANH, so that it would lead the Death Star to the hidden base on Yavin. I admit I'm a little unclear on this issue, since the dialogue in TLJ implies it should be only impossible to track an object through hyperspace directly; Wookiepedia and similar sources suggest an Imperial tracker like Vader mentions would still allow the Empire to figure out what sectors or planets the ship might have gone to, even if they can't directly track the hyperspace portions.

Tech in TLJ allows them to track ships without a physical tracking device attached to the ship.

force flying thru space, why use an X-wing fighter?
..just saying..

Clearly since she almost died anyway, it can only be used in the short term but I think you already assumed that
..just saying..

I can't help but laugh my tits off at the idea that what Leia did was OTT in a universe where people can use the force to speed up, read minds, manipulate minds, see the future, shoot lighting out of their fingers and extend their lifespans.

Interesting Screen Rant article about review bombing of the audience score

The deeper recesses of Reddit and 4chan are indeed littered with threads in which enraged “ex”-fans organize campaigns in an attempt to control the narrative and create a situation wherein the idea of the new Star Wars Trilogy as “poorly received” can overtake the reality of its reception in the public discourse.

No, the writers create a story. Fans that decide it wasn't what they imagined create the animosity. Fans decided a long time ago what this movie was going to look like. And despite the marketing LITERALLY telling them "This isn't going to go the way you think!", they still cling to their imagined storylines and their hopes. I'm not criticizing, it's what almost all of us do.
There has to be a conversation about expectations and their impact upon a viewing experience.

Satron, Finn's glider was already being melted on the way there and would have been incinerated if it dared the cannon to pick off a wannabe hero.

Haldo didn’t need to explain herself to anyone. She’s a vice-admiral and mutiny is not standard procedure.

She delayed in ramming the fleet because it was a last ditch effort that normally would have failed. Hux explicitly ignored the ship only when he thought it was empty. If “warp-ramming” were a standard battle tactic, it’d be both universes main weapon. Forget antimatter or turbolasers — just shoot a warp/hyperspace bullet.

I love how people are saying that Holdo should have killed herself sooner to save everyone! Yes, because in movies that is exactly what made up people do. They don't care about themselves. They commite suicide for the greater good. In real life, no one does that. And in a movie were almost everyone is guided by human and flawed emotions instead of Hollywood 'made up' emotions, it really doesn't make sense for a person to basicly wanna hold on to live as long as possible before willingly die.....

Wait.......

And before someone mentions Finn.....

This movie LITERALLY begins moments after TFA. Finn has only JUST started to break from years of First Order force-fed doctrine. The idea of willfully giving up your life for what you're told is the greater good is standard for a StormTrooper. That, under stressfull conditions, Finn feels that sacrifycing his life for what he things is right should only be normal.... Just reflect on that for a second, ok??

I'm not much of a Star Wars fan. Growing up I was always more into Star Trek. Just about anyone in here could argue circles around me about Star Wars and I wouldn't be able to keep up. So take my answer with a grain of salt unless you're specifically looking for a non-fan's perspective.

I enjoyed it, I wasn't constantly checking my watch or my phone (which is always a good sign), yet I also wasn't totally, completely blown away by it... so I gave it a B.

Just a quick note on the timeline of the movie. The 18 hour figure is getting thrown around a lot, I don't remember how far into the chase that figure was given, but it doesn't matter. We already saw that the scene on the island jumped backwards in time because we saw Rey walk up to Luke again. So it could have very well been 3 days earlier. She only gets back in sync with the rest of the story when she has her first Force link with Kylo.

She already killed herself...that was the whole point of staying behind. (Supposedly.) Otherwise, why was she there at all?

So is Snoke really dead? Or do you think he'll come back in some animated form with giant robotic spider legs?

I'm just kidding. That would be a pretty stupid idea.

And I was so convinced seeing Luke's old X-Wing underwater was foreshadowing him lifting that up and flying away. What a letdown. :p

I agree emillia. I was so hoping that Luke when come flying in with that old xwing and save the day. Would have been a grand entrance. Sadly we got a force image of luke.
