So, quick question though....

My brother swears that the
young boy at the end pull the broom to him with the Force. I really can't remember seeing that. Did anyone else noticed this?

Yes.

Seriously??? Damn, I wish I had noticed that!!!
It was kind of subtle -

It didn't fly to him. It was leaning against the wall and as he went to pick it up, the handle moved about six inches into his hand. The business end was still resting on the floor.

This movie was really kinda shit. Nearly all the scenes involving Rey, Ben and Luke work well. It is clear that they are the meat of the movie. Everything around the Rebellion and their flight from the First Order fleet, the adventure in the casino, the hunt for the code breaker is ultimately pointless, leads to nowhere and could have been cut for time. The Rose character is uninteresting and annoying. She also prevented Finn from making a noble sacrifice. In so doing she helped the First Order.

Over 70% of grades in this poll ate B- or above, over 60% B+ or above.

Despite the negativity posted here, people like it !

^ Finn being the first victim of the laser wouldn’t have helped. There’s nothing noble dying in a fit of impotent desperation.

The pointlessness of the casino planet it what sold it for me. In all these movies, the heroes pull off these amazing plans just in the nick of time. The point here was that they zagged when you were expecting the zig. The heroes FAILED. And that was new and true to life. Sometimes you fail.

Additionally, the code breaker being not being an ideologue himself (for empire or rebellion) and pointing out the rig in the system (the rebels buying from and enriching arms dealers) was a good beat for kids. This too you’ll have to deal with — and, really, there’s more of him than Snoke out there.

Finn's glider would have exploded inside the the cannon (can[n]on-violation?). The First Order would have needed to a) bring another cannon or b) fall back to their ships and bombard the planet from orbit - just to be sure.

The pointless of the whole casino-codebreaker-mutiny portions of the movie is created by the writers letting the characters act like idiots. Had Admiral Laura Dern told our heroes what she and Leia intended to do this could all have been avoided. Our heroes didn't fail. They wasted time and risked their lives needlessly.
One other point. Why did the Admiral watch, for what seemed an eternity, how the First Order shoots down one rescue transport after the other? How does a military leader rise to the level of Admiral when she can't communicate her plans properly and takes forever to come to a decision that was obvious to the audience the moment she told Leia that she'll stay behind on the ship.

They did fail. They brought a different dude back with them who ratted them out and lead to the loss of ships and lives.

That (and scenes like it) were maddening. We just keep cutting back to more transports being shot down, over and over, while the characters just watch out the window. And Holdo stays behind to pilot the ship (because an autopilot or droid won't do?) and then doesn't do anything. She doesn't steer, she just stands in the middle of the room for a near eternity until she finally decides to act, swings it 'round and pulls of a kamikazi.

Yes, in a sense. But it is pointless nonetheless. They wouldn't not have felt the need to do this in the first place if the Admiral had told anyone her plans.

When she finally acts, the imagery is stunningly beautiful, how she rips through the First Order ships.

I wasn't a fan of how it just magically/luckily wrecks all (or was it only many?) the ships.

To be honest, I couldn't help but think of how much more impressed I was when Hera went to lightspeed through a hanger recently and tore the ass out of the place.

In this video, we see the Rebels on the ground following the Lothal wolves. The wolves lead them to a place of safety. The wolves have a special connection to the Force. In the movie, I had a question, were the crystal foxes, which lead the Resistance to safety, did they too have a special connection to the Force.

I have read the mission to Canto Blight being described as a video game side mission, where the player has to go through so many steps to get a thing accomplished. I agree wtih that assessment.

The joke at the end, about Leia's hair was a thing added to the script by Fisher. She was involved with the script writing.

That was actually a moment that I liked. Very poignant and gave the Holdo character a bit of depth. She should have just done it sooner!!
