And the scenes with Constable Zuvio. The guy had an interesting alien design and outfit, got two action figures in two different scales and even after that he was completely edited out of the film.

Yeah, he featured heavily in a story set before TFA. He may even have been the lead character.

The script only identifies him as "WARRIOR" which could go either way.... and all the Knights had different crazy looks... but I'll have to watch again.

I have a question about Lor San Tekka: Is he supposed to actually be someone else? I seem to remember reading that they were setting him up to be somebody really important but then they go and kill him off just like that. Is he actually someone else in disguise? Like a character from the OT who had to go into hiding for some reason?

I think there are three posibilities with Lor San Tekka
1) They purposefully made him seem important so his death would be a big shock.
2) People assumed he would be important because he was played by Max von Sydow
3) We'll learn more about him in later movies, and it will turn out he was a big player between the Original Trilogy and the Sequel Trilogy.

I assume we will see the character in other media. Either in one of the Anthology films or Rebels (or a post-Yavin cartoon)

So, what the hell is up with only 4.5 minutes of cut scenes? I thought there was like 20 minutes or something. Where's Unkarr Plutt getting his arms ripped off by Chewie????
They have to have something to release on the Tri-Trilogy "Eternal Edition" box set.

Finally got around to seeing this one.

I think the title should have been Star Wars-Recycled.

"Recycled" as in ideas being recycled.

According to Wikipedia Harrison Ford is now 73 years old.

In my opinion, Ford is now too old looking for action-adventure.

As he should.

If the studio and producers want him for a role and he's willing to do it, why shouldn't he?

Technically, he said Rey's "parents" (plural) aren't in TFA. That doesn't mean one of them isn't. ;)

This is J.J. Abrams we're talking about here. He's a master at not telling the entire story even when we think he is.

I was almost positive it was Luke, so this is kind of a shock to me. But just because they weren't in TFA doesn't mean they aren't still connected to the other characters somehow. I find it hard to believe they would make her parents identities a big mystery if they were just random people we had never seen or heard about before.
I guess @cooleddie74 could be right, and it could be Luke and Abrams is using "parents" to get around admitting it.
