From Londinium to Lundenwic to London. There's certainly no shortage of examples in regards to cities, though as with counties that get renamed, it's more often than not very deliberate and not oft the result of linguistic drift. Those seem to be in the minority.
Indeed, I think Korriban and Moraband are similar sounding enough that one could possibly be an evolution of the other.
On the other hand that could just as easily indicate that they're both distinct but contextually related words in the same language (as Tatooine and Dantooine probably are.) The "ban" or "band" suffix could simply be a generic form often found in place names (think: "-bury", "-borne", "-burgh", "-ham", "-hampton" etc.) For example the old tongue word for "planet" or "homeworld", while hypothetically "Korri" could indeed be a related term to "coru" in Courscant (which IIRC the EU had down as meaning jewel, or something similar.) Then perhaps "mora" means "tomb" or perhaps "mounument", which one could propose coincided with Korriban's shift over time from the Sith homeworld to tomb-world. Perhaps the Sith Imperial capital moved elsewhere at some point as Korriban's environment collapsed and became a dessicated husk.

The big thing about today's movies is the overuse of hand-held camera. Overuse may be understating it as many films opt for 100% handheld, start to finish. This, more than anything else, is what characterizes a modern 201x movie (even more prevalent on TV shows). Put the camera on a damn tripod and you're already getting a retro feel without having to insert film grain, etc...
Quentin Tarantino is a good example of a modern filmmaker who shoots the traditional way (not a lot of handheld). The most recent Planet of the Apes also was fairly restrained with handheld.

back to the Moraband chat, when Yoda approaches the temple, it looks nearly identical to how the Sith Acadamy in SWTOR looks.
Plus the trivia page states that the planet was intended to be Korriban, and that names change over the years as you people have suggested. The current canon galaxy map places it in the same spot as well.

The designers of Clone Wars were actually pretty clever in terms of working in subtle and some times not so subtle nods to other parts of the franchise while still building their own stories.
