That was in fact the only thing I didn't like. The line, or it's delivery. Nor really the following "defiant" line-reading of "Yes Sir".The casting in this movie looks awesome. Felicity Jones looks like she's going to deliver an amazing performance as Jyn Erso. I loved her delivery of that one line. You know the one.
That only works on Abrams, and he has nothing to do with this movie.I want to see this movie now. Like, right now. Like I'm actually contemplating contracting a fatal disease and launching a Facebook campaign now.
ANH gives no indication what happened to the people who stole the plans for the first Death Star. All we know is many Bothans died obtaining the plans to the second one. Indeed, if the guy with the moustache in the cast photo released last year is in fact Biggs as many have speculated it might be, that would indicate someone survives this operation, even if he ends up dying not long afterwards. The trick though will be pulling off a story where we feel for the characters much of whom, we can infer from ANH, are already doomed.

Miss Jones is a wonderful actress (Theory of Everything clearly shows that), but this little moment didn't sell for me. Forced. Stilted It was reminiscent of Daisey Ridley's poor line readings in some of the Tatooine sections of TFA where she is stilted and uneven in her delivery. I have no idea if these were some of the earlier shot sections of that film, but it felt like in those scenes she hadn't quite got a complete grip on the character. Perhaps the same here. Or perhaps a bit of missing context - forcing across a "hard line" to the management?
I'm a bit surprised we didn't see even a hint of Vader in this (given what a massive selling point that would be for people), but I imagine they're just saving that for the full trailer.
Also, I'm wondering: what is the likelihood this will be the first SW film without a lightsaber duel?
Someone up-thread mentioned that -- at the 1:18 mark -- the black-cloaked figure kneeling in front of the energy beam (flanked by red guards) is likely DV. Does anyone know who might have been cast? (presumably James Earl Jones was approached to voice).

So is it just me, or does it kinda look like the rebels will be stealing the Death Star plans off the Death Star itself? For some reason I always assumed they stole them from some random Imperial facility somewhere, or maybe off a Star Destroyer or something.
"It is a period of civil war. Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire.
During the battle, Rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire's ultimate weapon, the DEATH STAR, an armored space station with enough power to destroy an entire planet..
