Star Wars: Episode VII: The Nerd Rage Awakens

There are very few "stars" her age that don't seem like they were made in the Kardashian factory. She is a rare bird. I love that.
Careful. Her sister is a model. A stunning one too.

For all we know, "Keeping up with the Ridleys" may already be in development.

To be fair, there's a whole generation of those girls that look the same.

For me, she's basically a slightly younger version of Natalie Portman ........ which was kinda on purpose.........

Why would anyone have their first view of the trailer be on a frickin 4.5 inch phone screen, though?

^It's good for comparing films from two different eras. It's unfair to look at Gone With the Wind's initial* 1939 $189.5 million box office take (which admittedly is impressive on its own) with Avatar's initial* $749.8 million take 70 years later.

You adjust for inflation for 2015 dollars and you see Avatar's $799.8 million is eclipsed by Gone With the Wind's $1.7 billion with a B.

Or if you'd prefer, take a look at estimated ticket sales. Avatar's 97.3 million to GWtW's 200 million.

* I'm not taking rereleases into account here.

Well I meant that she seems grounded and normal. Not looks-wise

When the actors are filming the scenes, they have no way knowing what the finished product will look like, so it has to be very exciting for them to see it for the first time.

Gotta say, I really love how the events of the OT have become almost a myth of their own within this world, and how the story of the Jedi, Luke, and the Force have all apparently faded into memory by this time. To me that's already about a thousand times more compelling a setup than how the EU had everything playing out post-Jedi.

And I also absolutely love everything about those opening scenes with Rey. Even though it's nearly all CG, this world already feels more palpably real and atmospheric than anything we've seen in SW for a long time.

Well I'm sure they can look at the dailies if they wish, but yeah, they have no idea what the film is going to look like edited together. Or with something that is FX-heavy.

What I would find interesting is to see their reactions when the FX is introduced to them in their scenes for the first time.

They have to use their imaginations when dealing with certain elements, so then its interesting to see if the FX meet or exceed what they imagined. :)

Loved the trailer and all the shots of the new 3. Looks like Poe and Finn start an good relationship, which is nice. Still waiting to see more of Poe, though.

Secondly, I love Han's discussion of all the stories. I would imagine that once the First Order gained more of a foothold, the propaganda would start downplaying the Rebel Alliance's accomplishments. Same thing with the Empire and the Jedi's leadership in the Clone Wars.

Finally, I am already starting to be in opposite to the opinion, as I think Kylo Ren is a perfect villain for this new series. I enjoy his voice, I find his motivation compelling (thus far) and his image cuts a very iconic look. Can't wait to see him in action.

Very excited for this film :)

I've seen some complaints that the tone of the trailer is too serious. Too reverent. I think that's a great thing. For one, I think it shows a perfect idea of fandom. We do look at the OT as our legends, sometimes perhaps a little too reverently. Plus, if the idea is that our knowledge of OT has fallen into myth, and these people want to be free and want more, then why wouldn't the characters show such reverence as well?

I know nothing about Poe other than he is a brilliant fighter pilot, but I'm already really interested in finding out more about his character.
