I read the author's blog entry. This is the ugly/idiotic side of nerd-dom...that you actively sabotage the revival of a property that you're apparently a fan of, especially when you haven't even read the book or you object to certain themes that you've *heard* are in the book.
But some people are saying the guy's writing style sucks too, and while I haven't read the book, I can definitely see how that could grate on a reader. I've certainly given up on books before because the author's writing is obnoxious in one way or another.
Should I start a separate thread just for the Journey to The Force Awakens? Or do you guys want to just leave all of that stuff here?

Shattered #1 disappointed me. About half of it was reshowing the events of ROTJ, and then we basically have Han in the background and that's it. I thought this was the comic that was going to show the Big Three because they're apparently not in Aftermath? Why won't they show what the main characters are doing after ROTJ?

I've only read the first few chapters so far, but haven't had a problem at all with his writing style or use of the present-tense.
I can only guess the people complaining just haven't read many different kinds of books before.

I actually find it refreshing. Not sure if it's the style or the clean slate--or both.

You could request a whole new sub forum for Star Wars. Of course the answer will probably be a no, but no harm in asking.
Irish news is reporting that their will be more filming in Ireland on the Sceilg Mhichil island. Pickups?
It's 14 weeks tonight until the premiere in most of the world, except America. The film will receive an actual "World Premiere", sometime the week before(S.O.P.).
It's WAY too late for pick ups.
Wrong - Australia gets it also on Thur. 17/12. Factor in midnight screenings and that's 12:00 noon on Wed. 16/12 on the East coast of the US.Also Ireland will get to see the movie on the 17th of December. A day before everyone else.
We'll let you know how it is!

Why would it automatically be no?
I don't see any need for the Big 3 in the tie in material leading up to the movie. It would be nice, but far from essential. But, I say that as someone who love the big characters, but my favorite characters were EU characters or minor movie characters (like wedge) who got expended stories in the books. So, I'm used to reading Star Wars books/comics that have little or nothing to do with the main characters of the movies.
