Star Wars: Episode VII: The Nerd Rage Awakens

To be fair to a product, though, I don't know how much weight I'd give some Amazon reviews for anything.

Side note: One of the spacecraft you fly around in in the upcoming game: "No Man's Sky" highly resembles what is commonly known among (most) Star Wars fans and admirers as the Z-95 Headhunter.

Apparently there's a large group of Old EU enthusiasts who are actively sabotaging the review websites for Aftermath. So I wouldn't put much stock in all those one star ratings.

I'm definitely going to give aftermath a chance. it could be good it could be bad but the Amazon reviews really don't seem to be saying much about the book itself it seems more like petty complaining. I love the EU, and in my head it will always be the real star wars canon, but I plan to take all these books by themselves and give them a fair chance. I felt Lords of the Sith was very good, and I'm interested to see what I think of aftermath.

Irish news is reporting that their will be more filming in Ireland on the Sceilg Mhichil island. Pickups?
Also Ireland will get to see the movie on the 17th of December. A day before everyone else.

Pickups (to correct some failed test screenings maybe), starting work on Episode VIII? Rogue One filming maybe?

I'd be pretty surprised if they're doing test screenings. Even with a iron-clad NDA it is too risky given how secretive they've been from day one.

We should be getting it on that Thursday too.

It's 14 weeks tonight until the premiere in most of the world, except America. The film will receive an actual "World Premiere", sometime the week before(S.O.P.).

It's WAY too late for pick ups.

Wrong - Australia gets it also on Thur. 17/12. Factor in midnight screenings and that's 12:00 noon on Wed. 16/12 on the East coast of the US.

We'll let you know how it is!

:p :p :p

It is far from too late. If they know exactly what they need to get they can have whatever they needed to shoot each day in the editing bay by the next morning (at the latest). It would be far from the first film to make changes up to the last minute.

I read the author's blog entry. This is the ugly/idiotic side of nerd-dom...that you actively sabotage the revival of a property that you're apparently a fan of, especially when you haven't even read the book or you object to certain themes that you've *heard* are in the book.

But some people are saying the guy's writing style sucks too, and while I haven't read the book, I can definitely see how that could grate on a reader. I've certainly given up on books before because the author's writing is obnoxious in one way or another.

They returned to Scelig Mhichil to film scenes for Episode VIII, continuing the story from where it leaves off at the end of Episode VII.

Oh; Spoiler Alert?

I do find that interesting. We've always had some events between movies that put our characters in new places and new situations. Now perhaps it might be picking up exactly where we left off? That's a Star Wars first. If it's true, of course.
