Star Wars: Episode VII: The Nerd Rage Awakens

I actually hope that they don't go too far out their way to regurgitate lines from the OT out of context. Staples like "I've got a bad feeling about this," of course. But it made me cringe in Crystal Skull when the first two lines out of Marion's mouth were her Raiders greatest hits.

I would've rathered it wasn't the first words out of Obi-Wan's mouth in Episode I but there you go.

Another thought I had. We saw the new stormtroopers and even got leaked photos of them early on, but we now know that there's new imperial star destroyers and imperial shuttles. The do look cgi, but none of that was leaked. I wonder if we will get to see inside those ships and I wonder what the new imperial uniforms look like? Also, will we have a Tarkin like character? Will we have imperial officers who make mistakes and get force choked? How much will they differ from the old officers?

There were subtle but important differences between military uniforms of the Old Republic during the Clone Wars and the uniforms of the Galactic Empire under the rule of Emperor Palpatine. I imagine that any evolution of those uniforms for the officers of the First Order will still leave them recognizable and they'll incorporate many of the same elements.

Anybody else think there's a chance Felicity Jones is playing a young Leia?

Carrie Fisher's own daughter is supposed to play the young Leia in The Force Awakens. And Rogue One is supopsoed to be about how the rebels got the Death Star plans, os it should take place right before A New Hope.

Besides, Felicity Jones is 12 years older than Carrie Fisher was in ANH.
I didn't realize Jones was that much older than Carrie Fisher in ANH, never mind.

Which is always surprising to me when I hear it. Because with the confident demeanor she has in that movie, Carrie has always seemed more like someone in her mid-20s to me.

Actually an example of good acting. It doesn't hurt that she has the strange hairdo and that her clothes hide her body making her seem older.

Plus, she feigned a good "royal," upper crust accent and her voice sounded so much more mature than her actual age when the original movie was filmed. She exuded a certain gravitas that went far beyond her years, both as Carrie Fisher and as Princess Leia Organa.

I always liked that nod of the Republic uniforms nodding towards the Imperial uniforms. Though, I am curious to know the differences between the Republic pilot uniforms in TPM, and briefly seen in AOTC. They are a blue color, versus the gray of the GAR uniforms.

I personally hope we see more uniforms for both the First Order and the Resistance.
