I just felt that (kind of seeing the forest for the trees) there as something claustrophobic about it, and you get that feeling even as a kid.
I always liked that about Dagobah, the woods are so thick that it feels more like a huge cavern. I find it somewhat cozy (I know, I'm weird.).

I guess I never got the memo that suddenly we all hated the Dagobah setting.
I guess that's a think now.

I personally enjoy Dagobah and think that less is more, in terms of the visuals. It feels small only because there is so much more out there that is concealed by the fog and trees. Like the swap monster that ate R2, we don't see it but we can guess.
It always felt like there was so much more to the planet it felt really mysterious.
Also, if you played it on Battlefront 2, it sucked because you never knew where the enemy was hiding.
