Star Wars: Episode VII: The Nerd Rage Awakens

Considering how many liberties both movies took with their science, I'm not sure they're really the best examples to use.

I meat Episode 2 of Star Wars is better than Skyfall.

But who cares? It's such a random comparison as to be virtually meaningless. Why not say Young Sherlock Holmes is better than Weekend at Bernies while you're at it?

People complain about the lightsabers in Episode 2 being a crutch, but Bond would not have survived without his obvious transmitter, or his fancy Aston Marton machine gun car.

If you're bothered by James Bond being saved by using cool gadgets and spy cars, then that may be the wrong franchise for you. You might want to try Jason Bourne over in aisle two.

Nah, I'd rather rewatch Nemesis any day. The story and villain are crap, but the movie is still worth watching for the fun little character moments, and for the last chance to see the TNG crew in action.

Most important I at least kind of care what happens to them, unlike anybody in AOTC.

I wonder if we'll see Leia use the force or have a lightsaber in the film.

The old Expanded post-ROTJ Universe sort of dragged things along (with some exceptions such as Dark Empire) with her becoming a Jedi, with her only really embracing it in the NJO and followup books. I wonder if we'll see a similar approach here.

I sure hope so. ~30 years in-universe and no utilization of a useful ability would be such a waste.

It'd be a shame if we didn't get to see her use the force in some way, even if it's just to levitate a cup of tea into her hands or something.

Same here. She was great with a blaster in the Original Trilogy, but didn't get to have as many action scenes as her character probably deserved. Leia should have at least one really thrilling action sequence during the new films to remind fans how courageous and fun she was in the original movies.

Just popping in to say that I saw the teaser in 3D IMAX this evening and wow, does the Falcon ever look good!

Nemesis is a movie that barely anyone has even seen, let alone liked. Theater chains were literally passing on it, IIRC.
