Given Ford's well-known distaste for the franchise I would not be shocked in the slightest that he only did this movie in exchange for Disney agreeing to finance an Indiana Jones V, which is the series he actually likes.
And, yeah, I've been assuming Han is a goner since the day his casting was announced.
Yeah it's possible, but the fact they're looking for someone with the same basic age, look, and body type as Ridley, and who can pass a chemistry test with Boyega, makes me think there might be something else going on.
Unless Rey somehow becomes a villain by the end or something, which seems kinda unlikely to me.
One other possibility that just occurred to me, is that they could simply be adding a love triangle to EPVIII. The Force Awakens puts Rey and Finn together, and we see them become, or maybe almost become, a couple. Then in EPVIII they bring in Mystery G,irl who shares an attraction with Finn, to add a bit of complication to the relationship.
I got put in charge of getting all of the new SWVII stuff ready for Friday at work today, so I was able to sneak peeks at some of the new stuff, most of which I hadn't seen yet.
What I saw:
Rey's Speeder:
A set that comes with a small Rey figure, in her Jakku outfit with her face covered by a scarf/mask thing with googles, and the staff she has in the poster. I could see Rey through a window, but the speeder was covered. The back shows the speeder with a net with the junk she gathered, there is a compartment on the top that opens up to reveal a cannon that shoots out a dart. The picture on the back also showed
Boba Fett
(I'm not sure if this means this character is actually in the movie or if it's an OT toy that just happens to be coming out along with the TFA stuff), Finn, and what looked like Teedo, but they referred to the character as somebody else's goon or minion or something like that. So it sounds like he might have a boss, if that was in fact Teedo.
Hot Wheels Black Series ships:
A Hot Wheels multi-pack with The Millennium Falcon, an X-Wing, a TIE-Fighter and possibly one other ship I can't remember. I couldn't tell for sure if these were the TFA version or the OT versions, because there were a few OT toys mixed in.
Micro Machine Battle Sets:
Chewie on an ice planet (Starkiller Base?) with a small section of the planet and two Snow Troopers in a Speeder.
Fin on a desert planet (I'm assuming Jakku) with a small section of the planet and I ship I didn't recognize.
Real Flying RC X-Wing:
This was a pretty big TFA X-Wing. It's probably about the size of you average RC plane.
Funko Pop Vinyl Sandtrooper and Dewback 2 pack:
I only saw the illustration on the top, so I couldn't tell for sure if they were OT or TFA stormtroopers.
Hero Mashers:
There were also some Hero Mashers figures of characters from the OT and PT, but no TFA characters.
There were also a couple of covered pallets that I didn't open.

For what it's worth and based on what I've seen, there's a Boba Fett 3.75" figure repack being released on Friday that comes with special armor as part of a Deluxe subline of figures (the "Armored Assortment"). I think it's just an existing OT Boba Fett rereleased in a new package with new armor and accessories.
"Master Luke, you have taught me the ways of the Jedi. I know we are supposed to renounce our physical desires, but I have very strong feelings for you."
Some rumors I have seen says she ends up separated from the rest of the cast on Luke's version of Dagobah at the end. Presumably the others are still in the wider galaxy while she has been out of circulation.

I was under the impression his attitude towards Star Wars has softened over the years. I seem to remember there being an interview around the time "Crystal Skull" was released, or maybe more recently, where the journalist went on a hike with Ford. They talked rather freely, and Ford said that he had come to terms with Star Wars' impact on his life and he's very thankful for it. But back in the 80's, he enjoyed Indiana Jones more because there was more for him to identify with as an actor playing Indy as opposed to Han. And of course, Indy was more fun.
He's going to buy it in TFA. I'd be very surprised at this point if he doesn't. But as much as I love him, and as *massive* an Indiana Jones fan as I am, I don't see him doing Indy 5. He's just too old at this point. They should've started a new trilogy back in 2000 or so...they waited too long. And this is coming from someone who didn't see him as too old in Crystal Skull...that movie's main problem was the terrible script. Ford was fine in the role. But they filmed that in 2007...too much time has passed now.
Pretty standard naming style for Star Wars...or 1930s science fiction serials for that matter. A lot of the current names for the background character have come over the decades since the original films came out. But go back to 1983 and listen to what Carrie Fisher calls the various aliens in Jabba's Palace. Not all that much off of current stock.
Yes, the naming of things never bothered me, especially since they always felt like either typos that sounded cool, or slightly altered, real world, things (Kamino? Vader?).
I'll just wait until I hear them pronounced in the movie. That always makes it better.
Two female leads? That can never work. A movie can only ever have one lead per gender.
Or else those characters risk starting talking to each other about something other than the opposite sex, maybe even crack jokes or bicker with each other.
Unless one of them is gay, then it's ok.
Star Wars tried it once already and what happened? Luke kissed his sister!!!!
Eeew!
Also, when I hear the name Kylo Ren, I think back to Star Wars: Droids. I believe there was a space pirate named Kybo Ren Cha, or something like that. Also, IIRC, I think he had a star destroyer under his command....a very atypical looking star destroyer.
