Star Wars Episode VII Discussion, News, Interviews (12/18/2015)

It's months old by now, but how many here have seen this?

It goes to show how good an actor Harrison is. He got through that entire bit without cracking up and breaking character. I would have started smiling and laughing as soon as the guy in the Wookiee costume stood up.

I saw that! If it's one of the actual Artoo props that will be used in the film it looks like he's been cleaned and polished up quite a bit in the several decades since JEDI. :) That's the cleanest he's looked since Episode I.

These astromechs were built to last, weren't they? We don't know how old R2 was when he was assigned to Queen Amidala's Royal Starship in Episode I but that makes him at the very least 32 years old at the time of the original film and about, oh, 65-70 when Episode VII rolls around. Threepio might be far older since kid Anakin retrieved his already-worn and used parts from a Mos Espa junkpile and reconstructed him, and I read somewhere that Threepio's basic Cybot Galactica droid components might have been at least half a century old by the time Anakin found them.

I don't know who his agent is, but R2 really needs to sack them. You'd think after all those years in the role he'd at least have a producer credit, or even script approval! ;)

That's nothing, in the Legacy comic book series R2 is still active 137 years after ANH.

Yes! I had a feeling the ship would return for the new Trilogy so it's not much of a surprise announcement, but it's still great and fun to know! If Han and Chewie are in the film then it only stands to reason their old warhorse would make a return appearance as well.

Let's see....12 parsecs adjusted for inflation since 1983....carry the one....

Oh, it's gonna take a little while.

According to the Star Wars collection on my hard drive, Star Wars 7 and Stars 8 are the two Ewok movies. This is like when they decononized all those breeding like vermin Direct to Video American Pie Movies, just because the original cast got together for American Wedding.

Makes you wonder how much of the Falcon has been replaced bringing us the old Ship of Theseus philosophical debate of when an object composed of parts stops being the original object when those parts are replaced.
