Star Wars E-book Price Alerts

Guys both to @JD and @Smiley. Smiley beat me to it. Look at ereaderiq to see the ups and downs of the prices on ebooks.

Guys these prices last at least at three week intervals. But please do not underestimate the prices as being permanent. They are not. Look at the prices jump on an ebook like Jedi vs Sith it was $5 its now higher at $15.

So no the prices are not permanent ever. Use ereaderiq and track the prices.

It seems like certain ebooks with stay at a low price for awhile, but I can guarantee you the publisher is doing this to permanently RAISE prices mostly from $5.99 originally in 2011 when some were released to $7.99 for the longest time to $8.99 or $9.99 or even higher some as high as $12.99 probably permanently.

Its the same for Star Trek as well, ebooks are selected at a sale price of .99 cents or $3.99 for a bit. Then the prices mostly surpass the old price.

I think personally the publishers now want all ebooks at $15 old ebooks or new. But its a hard sell to sell a newly released ebook at $15, and at the same time a 10 year old ebook at $15 as well.

I hope Im wrong. But I feel this is what is happening with ebook prices now guys.

I hope this helps.
All the best.

So if anyone wants to know, I was right the ebooks on 7/14/2019 that were $4.99 are now going up on 8/4/2019 so usually the prices stay at 3 weeks.

The only new ebook on sale on 8/4/2019 I could find was:

The Ruins of Dantooine: Star Wars Galaxies Legends for $5.99

All the rest of the ebooks offered are repeated discounts of repeated ebooks. Sorry everyone. But I am keeping my eyes peeled though.

Late addition as of 8/5/2019 on Amazon there is:

Star Wars: Queen's Shadow for $.99 cents.

Get it while you can. I know I am :)

Oohhh, I might have get that one. I've also been thinking about getting Catalyst and the Rogue One novelization to go along with Rebel Rising, to make their own novel trilogy.
The Last Jedi novelization is marked down, but not The Force Awakens, and it's really bugging me. I would think if they were going to mark down the second book of a trilogy, the could at least mark down the first one too.

Queen's Shadow is easily worth the sale price. It is one of the 8 books and comics featured on today's article on the official Star Wars website. I have not checked to see if any of the others are on sale. It seems odd that a book that came out this year would receive such a major sale.

Hey everyone.
Im sorry I screwed up. Last night on 8/7/2019 on Amazon the ebook for Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of Darth Vader was $.99 cents. But unfortunately, its now $9.99 at regular price. I missed it too.

@BillJ thats for when the Queen's Shadow gets released on paperback in March 2020. The book and the ebook was originally released on March 2019. My guess its a way to bring Star Wars to everyone's attention right before the new movie Rise of Skywalker comes out as promotion. I'll take it.

@JD I bought both Catalyst and Rogue One. I dont have Rebel rising is it good? Rogue One was a great adaptation to a great movie. As for the Force Awakens it was a daily deal for $1.99 once, and a $4.99 deal recently so it may get discounted again. Again the TFA and TLJ were both great novelizations.

I hope this helps guys,
-Koric

Re: Rebel Rising

If you want more information on Jyn and Saw, you'll probably like this story. For better or worse, it uses a lot of YA tropes, so adjust your expectations accordingly. My personal rating of it is 3/5.

Hey fellow Star Warriors and Trekkies or Trekkers (both just in case) lol.

On Amazon now as of 8/12/2019 the ebook for Star Wars: Alphabet Squadron dropped from $14.99 to $9.99. The book only came out 2 months ago on June 11 2019. Most ebooks only drop in price if the paperback is released usually 6 months out of the hardcover. Then the ebook usually drops from $14.99 to $9.99 if only then.

But to sweeten the deal if you purchase this ebook, Amazon if giving a $5 credit on your NEXT ebook purchase. Not bad if you ask me. Look for the small link that says $5 ebook credit under suggested titles in blue.

Thanks again @JD and @Smiley for the suggestions on Rebel Rising. I'll have to get it soon.
Enjoy all.

It looks like Vector Prime is newly down in price to $4.99. The other 18 New Jedi Order books are still full price, but if you just need that one or want an introduction to the series, this could be a good choice.

I checked again either yesterday or Sunday, and the Rogue One novelization is back up to full price.
And I just recently found out about Hoopla, and Overdrive two different websites/apps that let connect to through your local library and then borrow e-books, digital comics, digital movies, and digital music for free. My library gives me access to pretty much all of the Disney canon books, so I'll probably just read the ones I don't own already that way.

But to sweeten the deal if you purchase this ebook, Amazon if giving a $5 credit on your NEXT ebook purchase. Not bad if you ask me. Look for the small link that says $5 ebook credit under suggested titles in blue.
Unfortunately, the $5 credit only applies to "select Kindle eBooks", and of course Amazon doesn't say what those select eBooks are.

@Masiral I agree. I actually just did a return because I couldnt figure out which ebooks were eligible. Usually amazon's credits are pretty quick and straight-forward. Nothing against the ebook itself, or the story. But you are right, I cant recommend this deal this time. I want the freedom to get the credit and purchase the ebook I choose.

Sorry everyone. I dont know what happened with Amazon this time.

@JD Im sorry you missed the deal on Rogue One and Catalyst. I'm hoping the $4.99 or $5.99 price repeats for Rogue One and Catalyst again. This was the first time Rogue One has ever had a $4.99 sale price ever in 3 years other than the standard price drop from $14.99 to $9.99..

It's important to remember MOST of the ebook deals the prices have been discounted for a period of about three weeks, with new ebooks being added on Sunday's and the price increases happening then. You'll know the prices will increase when an ebook rises from $4.99 to $5.49 then its time to get the deal before it goes back to full price at $9.99 usually. It's a nice way to warn people of a price increase returning.

Regardless the movie is incredible and the novelization is awesome in every way. Its an interesting story for a Star Wars movie because all the main characters in Jyn's group and just main new characters to the story like Jyns mother and father, Krennic, and Saw and others all die at the end of 2 hours. But I truly cared for all the characters. But as a Star Wars movie its such a unique experience that way, in that all the new characters you are introduced to die in the end. Plus Vader's castle was awesome. I honestly thought the Emperor was in the bacta tank from the trailer because of Red Royal Guards. Just an awesome scene.

Spoiler:
I believed that Chirrut was a Jedi in hiding from the purge. :)

I need to buy Rebel Rising I guess now too.

I loved the feel of classic Star Wars throughout the book and film.

All the best.

Like I said in my other post, I'm going to be able to read them for free legally anyways, so I'm actually kind of glad I missed the sale. It means I saved myself $10, so I came out ahead in the end.

Hello everyone and hey @JD:

As of 8/25/2019 on Amazon there are a bunch of $4.99 repeat ebooks on sale again. There are some great ebooks for $4.99 again.

Unfortunately are repeats again but please refer to the lists from 6/23/2019 to get a good idea of the ebooks on sale.

But for JD:
$4.99
Rogue One novelization
The Force Awakens novelization

Catalyst is $5.99

So hey all. Enjoy. I hoping for some more new rarer ebooks on sale soon. :)

All the best,
-Koric

Ooh, I might have to actually buy those too if their that cheap. Thanks for the heads up.

I found Battlefront 2, which I've been wanting to check out, for only $20, so I decided to go with that instead of the books. I'll stick to my original plan and borrow them for free from Overdrive. I'm unemployed at the moment so I'm really limiting my entertainment purchases.

Hey all,
To anyone watching the thread. Amazon has a deal you have to activate for this week.

Its spend $15 on ebooks get a $4 credit back on Amazon
Only good for purchases from 8/27 to 9/5/2019.

It used to be spend $20 dollars get $5 back in ebook credit.

@JD Im sorry to hear about your being unemployed. Im sorry Im not trying to tempt you or give you and hard time over letting you know the deals.
Lots of prayers for you JD, and hopefully you find work soon.

The pattern for price changes seems to be changing. It now seems that when the Star Wars ebook prices change the sale price only seems to last for two weeks now instead of three.

So maybe the latest price drops will last another week.

Wishing everyone all the best. Have a happy and safe Labor Day weekend.

Just a heads up and FYI for everyone.
All the best. :)
