Artoo-Deeto is weird enough, See-Threepio is pretty hard to parse, and I saw one a few days ago on Wookiepedia that was a real stretch... ah, right, M-3PO from the X-Wing novels, which is somehow pronounced "Emtreypio." Where did the "r" come from?

According to the article on IGN this will be giving the full backstory for Kylo Ren, and the Knights of Ren. Hopefully this will just be filling some more flashback or something from Rise of Skywalker, but this seems like a pretty big story to just leave to a comic.
Along with The Rise of Kylo Ren, there will also be another Journey to The Rise of Skywalker, Alligiance, which will be set between The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker. It is being written by Ethan Sacks, with art by Luke Ross.
I just finished reading The Star Wars, the comic book adaptation of George Lucas's first draft script for the movie that became A New Hope. It was written by JW Rinzler, with art by Mike Mayhew.
It was OK, nothing really amazing, it was mainly interesting just from a historical perspective, seeing where things from the different movies started out. The writting in general was pretty good, but there were a couple things that bugged me. Annikin and Leia's realtionship felt really random, and just seemed to come out of nowhere. We barely even saw them interact, and then all of a sudden out of nowhere they were declaring their love for each other. Valorum's turn at the end also felt like it just suddenly came out of nowhere.
I gave it a 3/5.

Anyone here has read The Secret History of Star Wars by Michael Kaminski? What a great book. Seriously, great insights into the creation of the Saga. The parts with sequel trilogy are incredible. I wonder if some of it may turn out to be turn. I hope and wish Kaminski releases an updated book after the Saga ends. Thoughts anyone?
Out of curiosity, where is that image from? I was Googling it to find out more information, but I can't seem find any mention of it on Fantasy Flight's home page. It looks like a cool design (I've not read Aftermath), it just seems odd that there's no mention of new products (unless they've not done an official update - there's a Reddit thread implying new models).

Im surprised most havent read this book it is really good. It makes the case and shines a light of some interesting alternate choices and and stories Lucas could have used. On a side note I wish there was an updated Star Wars annotated screenplay book the one from 1997. One that actually has all the different versions of the scripts all of them from Episodes 1-9. With complete texts of the scripts and annotations too.

Anyone have any news on the release of the Rise of Skywalker novelization? Hopefully its Alan Dean Foster again or Matthew Stover? It's strange that there is no news or an Amazon page put up. I know about the Skywalker Saga book though.
Im hoping there will be a complete sequel trilogy book 7-9 like the Star Wars trilogy and Star Wars prequel trilogy book done in 2002 and 2005. Let me know.

Nothing announced yet, but if The Last Jedi and Solo are any indication, there probably won't be a novelization released until around the same time as Rise of Skywalker's home media release, which will likely be spring 2020.
I'd rather see Alexander Freed (Rogue One novelization) or Jason Fry (TLJ novelization) do it; Foster's TFA one was really bad.
I agree @WebLurker. Freed did a great job with Rogue One, and Fry with the TLJ was incredible too.
But no on Matthew Stover? Stover really took the story of Revenge of the Sith to an awesome place with his adaptation. But dont forget Alan Dean Foster is the master of movie novelizations hands down. He did Star Wars 1977, I also read Alien and even The Black Hole all by Foster. Each book was incredible and had even more depth on the movie. Foster knows his stuff period. I think with TFA he was restricted either by Disney or Lucasfilm in some way as far as going too deep with the story. It could have led to complications or contradictions or revealed too much for the sequels. I'm not entirely sure. But ADF is a master though. Without Foster movie novelizations I believe wouldnt be as good or as successful at all. The same with Vonda McIntyre and 1980's Trek II, IIi, IV. But Foster did it first.
Times have changed and movie novels need to have depth and insight in them, after all we can have the movie now in 6 months or less. It would be almost full circle to have ADF write the beginning and end, hopefully with Lucas's insight on the story too.
But honestly, Stover just nailed Sith though.
