STAR WARS: Books on Confederate holdout post-Clone Wars?

ReadyAndWilling

Fleet Captain
i'm really interested in how the remaining forces of the confederacy dealt with the deaths of their leadership. i came across this site and it says they were in the middle of a peace treaty with the jedi just as order 66 was occurring. this is it here: "At the close of the Clone Wars, the Separatists on Acherin were in the process of negotiating a peace treaty with the Jedi General Garen Muln. After Muln survived an assassination attempt made by his own clone troopers when Order 66 was initiated, the Acherin Separatists retreated to their fortified cities, hid the Jedi until he could be evacuated off-world, and declared war on the emerging Galactic Empire.[1]"

does anyone know if there are any books on this? will the clone wars cover this? at what point does the clone wars end? does it end just before ROTS?

The Clone Wars ends with the Battle of Courscant at the start of "Revenge of the Sith". We see the end of the battle at the start of the movie when Anakin and Obi-Wan are called in to deal with General Grevious and Count Dooku who has "kidnapped" Palpatine. I assume that the Confederacy were absorbed into the Empire with the rest of the Republic. The Separatists were afterall just a puppet organization that Palpatine used so the Republic could have an enemy to fight so he could in turn manipulate things to form his Empire.

I don't recall any books that deal with this specific topic. Perhaps James Lucerno's Rise of Darth Vader which takes place directly after Episode III but that really just deals with Anakin's first few days as Vader.

The Clone Wars most assuredly do not end with the Battle of Coruscant. That notion is easily disproved simply by watching the rest of the film. After the Battle of Coruscant is over, there's still the battle on Kashyyyk later in the film, not to mention Utapau. The Order 66 sequence features a montage of various planets where the war is obviously still in progress.

The Clone Wars end when Darth Vader sends the signal from Mustafar which orders the shutdown of all droid units. ( In the novel the Sep leaders do it themselves. )

That sounds like an attempt at a localized "peace treaty" with one specific Jedi general and restricted to the action on a specific planet, not a galaxy-wide peace treaty applying to the overall Confederacy and Republic.

What do you think? The micro-series ended as a lead in to Revenge of the Sith. Since Clone Wars is not over yet we can only assume that it ends before Revenge of the Sith. Most fans seem to think it will.
