Enjoying the series so far, and wonder if there is any news on the other Star Wars series. Star Wars Insider has had some updates

Care to share?

Enquiring minds wish to know!

That is will partially focus on Bounty Hunters. Take place inbetween Episodes 3 and 4 (19 year difference). Nothing to do with the Skywalkers. Darth Vader might appear once in a while, as well as the Emperor but they will be background characters. A lot of new characters will be introduced, but won't always appear in the series. Possibly nothing to do with the Jedi. Many writers are being asked about the series. They want to do it for 2010 I think it said. It will be an hour long live action series to run for at least 100 episodes, possible many more. They want to make the series look like the movies, meaning the budget and scale, but with much cheaper budgets. The latest issue of Star Wars Insider is mainly has news on the clone wars series, which is getting better and better with each new episode, but the next few issues will have more news on the live action series, with a possible name to the series and illustrations of what the series will look like

Lucas has said Vader, Palpatine, or any of the main characters won't appear and it'll be based more on the movie's smaller characters. Their presence will loom over everything but they've described it as "Deadwood in Space." Kind of the seedy underbelly.

There's a very good chance Boba Fett will appear in the series though. Myself, I'd love for them to get Ewan McGreggor for a sweeps week episode. Just an hour of him as Obi-Wan on Tatooine...could be some great, great stuff.

Maybe even a Yoda cameo

I'm thinking it's going to be painful to lose "Snips" when Order 66 comes down.

We don't know if Snips is going to suffer the same fate. There were some survivors and it's possible she's one of the ones in hiding.

I still have hopes that Barriss Offee will eventually be deemed a survivor. The circumstances of the attack on her were nearly identical to those of the attack on Quinlan Vos. As a healer, her odds of survival should perhaps have actually been better than his.

I have no idea what you're talking about.

 Clearly, I've become too fond of a minor character.

Barriss Offee was one of the Jedi in Episode II. We saw her during both scenes in which the Jedi met with Palpatine, and during the arena battle. She appeared prominently, with her master, Luminara Unduli, in the novel that 'led up' to the film, The Approaching Storm, about the dispute on Ansion from which Obi-Wan and Anakin have just returned at the start of the movie (one of the better novels), in one episode of the previous animated series (with Luminara), occasionally in the Clone Wars comics (with and without Luminara), and in her own novel dilogy, MedStar. She was shown blasted by a Republic walker during the comic version of Order 66 (she was cut from the film), a fate which another Jedi, Quinlan Vos (mentioned in Episode III, but not seen), was shown to have survived in the same comic.

Luminara Unduli, btw, wasn't cut from Episode III (she shared Barriss's scenes in Episode II, also). She was seen on Kashykk, just before the battle. She also appeared briefly by holo in 'Destroy Malevolence' (I think that was the episode), commanding another Republic task force. She's supposed to play a more prominent role in at least one later episode (that's as much as I know).

So yet another arc ends with Grevious running away in his little ship. Really, they just need to get another villain because that's just getting sad.

Given the age of the character, my personal theory is that she's going to survive to be in the live action series all grown up. I'd like to see Vader catch her after Order 66 and not be able to bring himself to kill his old padawan, especially if she never "betrays" him like he thinks Obi Wan did.

Or they do it.

Vader has needs, no matter how clumsy it to work around his life support system.

That's my opinion too. I think she'll show up on the live action series.

Does he even need a sack to make babies?

You'd have to wonder that if the force puts babies in ladies bellies then maybe it can put alien magic foreign sperm into boys? that even if his dick worked that he wouldn't be having his kids but playing a surrogate delivery system for the force that he isn't genetically related to any of his supposed children.

Waste disposal might lead to prostate stimulation and continuous orgasms? Which would explain the heavy breathing no?

Another dangling plot thread is Captain Rex. Does he toe the company line with Order 66 or does he break from the pack?

I'm curious as to who they're going to get-- Doctor Who's Russell T Davies was apparently asked to a talk with George Lucas, but he turned him down sight unseen.

Only one squad of Clone Troopers didn't follow Order 66. Vader promptly executed them.

Originally, 100 one hour-long episodes were proposed, but at Celebration Europe in July 2007, producer Rick McCallum explained that it may run up to 400 episodes, and "it’s something that can go on for years and years. One of the ideas is that we’ll have multiple series going on in about two or three years' time." This supports a description given by Lucas as "one show that will split into four shows, focusing on different characters."
