Even though Star Trek XII will be shot in 2-D (and probably on 35mm film if JJ Abrahms is directing) and most likely converted to 3-D in post production.
There are 2 videos at the link. One is a great 10 minute video of the The Hobbit behind-the-scenes production Video Blog #4 about shooting stereoscopic 3-D.

I won't pay to see a big action-adventure movie in 2D if it's showing in 3D.
