When I saw the ships shooting off at warp with an almighty boom and then suddenly they're gone I thought it looked pretty fantastic, definitely the best warp effect i've ever seen in Trek.

So is the Trek XI warp effect the best you've seen in trek?

Eh, it was okay.

I kind of prefer the 24th Century warp effect, with the bright flashing light in the distance once the ship is gone.

The best by far. I don't know what a ship would look like as it jumped to warp, but I think this is probably the most realistic. Also the effect of warp viewed from inside the a ship is pretty cool too.

Aside from TMP, the effect in this movie is actually similar to the effect seen in ST II thru VI. I thought they did a good job.

The Warp effect is alright, but the Warp sound? My God, It cut right through you. This movie had amazing sound design, and the warp jump sound is awesome.

The best by far. And, one of the only instances where the perspective effect (look at the saucer out of the window) has a good use.

The E-D and this new one are my two favorites.

Geeze.

Some of you really are drinking a Kool-Aid aren't you?

ST fans are becoming notorious for not accepting anything new, even if its better.

It was alright. The way it launched was okay, but I didn't like the tunnel effect they used for flyby shots at warp...it was fast, but it looked like it was missing something.

It's just amazing to me that people keep point out little minutia things that were changed for this movie and people are all "OMG I LOVED IT!!! BEST EVA!!!!"

"OH THE STARDATES MAKE SENSE NOW! IT'S AN EARTH YEAR FOLLOWED BY A UNDEFINED DECIMAL!!! I LOVE IT!!!!"

"OH THE WARP EFFECT IS KEWL!!!"

It's getting kind of silly.

It's the appeal of something new (and shiny ;)).

And it does sound COOL!

I totally loved it. My boyfriend both had a "damn that was cool" moment when we saw it.

No more silly than the trekkies who refuse to see this movie because of the changes.
