I know, I know, the proper title for the film is simply 'Star Trek'. And that's as it should be. It's appropriate, as a reboot. It's good marketing to brand it simply that way.
But in fandom we don't necessarily have to roll like that. I get tired of refering it as variously 'Abrams Trek', or 'NuTrek', or 'Trek 2009', or whatever. Surely if we all put our heads together we can all come up with a good, proper subtitle for the 2009 movie?
Boring as it sounds, I like the one suggested on the movie poster. "The Future Begins". It's a nice simple subtitle that also manages to explain what the movie is about.
