Star Trek XI "sneak peek" during 'Heroes'? (Star Trek: The Future?)

Re: Star Trek: The Future...wtf?

Nice fuck up on national TV, ( I posted that as it happened in the hereos thread ) why the hell didn't they get Quinto to announce it since it was during Heroes. Going to watch for thread that says "Tv announcers hate Star Trek" LOL

Re: Star Trek: The Future...wtf?

So they just ran the entire trailer during Heroes on NBC.

And the announcer said "And now, a sneak peek at 'Star Trek: The Future', coming to theaters May 8th"

:wtf:

Is this an official title now?
Merging this with the other thread. Stand by...

Re: Star Trek: The Future...wtf?

Because everyone in Germany sees the new Star Trek movie on opening night anyway.
Well, I guess that's true for every German Star Trek fan. But I would also like non-fans to go see that movie.

Really, they could cobble together outtakes from "These Are The Voyages" and score it with music from "The Benny Hill Show" and everyone in Germany would buy a ticket as long as it's called "Star Trek."
It's sad, but that might actually be true. German fans are starving for new Star Trek.

Basically because they don't make "Perry Rhodan" movies any more. ;)
There were never any Perry Rhodan movies, were there? I've never ever read any of these books. Come to think of it, I don't even know anyone who reads them.

Re: Star Trek: The Future...wtf?

The announcer definitely flubbed that. Sheesh, was there not enough room in the budget to take the five seconds needed to re-record it?

I'm glad. The more I thought about it, the more that "Star Trek: The Future" sounded like a really, really rediculous name.

well the original title of the movie was going to be "Star Trek: FIGHT the Future"

;)

I know -- I was thinking to myself "what the hell does that even mean?"

The fact that the alledged subtitle was so meaningless convinced me that the announcer misspoke/misannunciated.

Re: Star Trek: The Future...wtf?

This reminds me of something I read ealier this week. Germany's biggest cinema company Cinemaxx advertises Star Trek as Star Trek 11 in their program flyer. In my opinion that undermines every attempt by Abrams to appeal to a broader audience. Now it reads as if it's just another one of these Star Track movies. I don't get why they're doing this.

Sooo true! I wasn't that thrilled after having seen the last movie, and from what I've seen so far I just KNOW I'm gonna hate the new/old Enterprise, but that doesn't mean I'm not gonna watch it. After all, to really appreciate (AND to hate) it, you have to have SEEN it first, right. ;) Honestly, final judgement won't be delivered until after I've seen the full movie.

Just don't see why Quinto did not announce it since he is in the dam thing.

You must have loved all that X2: X-Men United stuff, then. :D

Radio station up here had that one ID'd as 'X2 - Men United' which sounded like 'two snaps up' more than a comic superhero flick.

Wait, wait: So most Germans love Star Trek?
