Star Trek XI dishonors original by existing

Nah, I quite nuBSG near the end of season 2. I suppose I'll pick up the DVDs eventually. The whole Roslyn-miracle-recovery thing was too much for me to take.

To the OP: I get it, and it made me laugh.

I think I wasn't quite crazy enough this time.

There is is almost no difference between a fanboy and a parody.

It is a difficult thing to master.

I shall return when I loose touch with reality again. Now goodbye forever!

Good thing that...

it wasn't a miracle-recovery after all...

THIS IS A DISASTER I CAN’T BELIEVE THEY'RE MAKING DIFFERENT THINGS IN STAR TREK I CAN’T BELIEVE THESE PEOPLE ARE SO CLUELESS ABOUT THE BASICS OF STAR TREK THIS IS A DISASTER

and horrors of horrors..
a mining shuttle has dirt.
everyone knows there was no dirt in tos.
:wtf:

Hey man, I'm on your side. I'm up for STXI as a prequel film, but I say it should use the original Enterprise and other stuff. Dress up the interiors a little, use different lighting, maybe even tone down the colors on the uniforms, but basically the originals. I still say it could work.

Now I'm in for a world of hurt.

I agree. For what it's costing to make this ONE new movie we could have at least 1000+ new movies if they just used all the old sets, models, and costums. :bolian:

I know, there was not any dirt!! Certainly not enough to actually get on a federation mining shuttle. Who does Abrams think he is

BTW, I wasn't sure at first whether the OP was joking or not until I got to the torpedo launcher on the neck and the light in place below that.

I for one have high hopes for this film.

Forget that. That's nothing.

How much do you want to bet Kirk actually has an open-mouthed kiss with a woman in this movie?

How much do you want to bet we'll see a little grittier violence?

How much do you want to bet the language will be saltier?

This movie should be done with 1960s TV sensibilities! Where's Standards and Practices when you need them?

If they do have dirt on the Shuttle, they should stop the plot and have 3 scenes of in-depth explanation about how the shuttle's cleaning system is off-line. That's the only way the dirt can posssibly work, or be noticed by anyone!

I am protesting this irresponsible film-making Hollywood king by not posting here.

Now goodbye forever! Again!

Which reminds me, it may have been more of a TNG thing, but if no one does a diagnostic in this movie, I'll be very disappointed. I'm hoping the word comes up in Kirk's K-M test scene.
Admiral: He what?
Instructor: Cadet Kirk beat the no-win scenario.
Admiral: Impossible. Commader, I want a level three diagnostic run on that simulator. Let's get to the bottom of this! [Dramatic music.]

M'Sharak:  Yeah, you know the McCoy character knows more words than he would've ever been allowed to use on TV. The "real" McCoy (sorry) could probably earn the movie an "R" rating for language. Southern gentleman or not.

But it had the benefit of never being tried before. ;) Commendation for original thinking and all that!

He was always the gentleman, but it can't be an accident that I thought of McCoy first, when it came to colorful language. Scotty may have had some lines that made you think he was swearing, but some of Bones' facial expressions (especially when he was annoyed with Spock) were far more eloquent -- you could practically hear them. :D
