In the Voyager episode "Prototype" there were two races of robots created by the Pralor and Cravic that were at war. As you know, Torres was kidnapped and made to create a prototype with one of the robots watching. In the end she terminated the prototype and was beamed out to safety. Just before beam out the robot mentioned (kind of) that she'd become the enemy and she said she never wanted to be his enemy. We learnt in the episode that the machines were programmed to defeat their enemies at all costs.
Well, my series idea is basically this... the Pralor machines managed to copy Torres' prototype and managed to begin building more machines and defeated the Cravic machines with overpowering numbers. The Pralor machines now able to replicate themselves now had a new enemy to focus on, aka the Federation. The Federation is their new enemy thanks to Torres destroying the prototype and Voyager attacking the Pralor ship.
Following the destruction of the Cravic machines, the Pralor machines searched for Voyager and discovered the whereabouts of the Federation.
In 2440 the entire armada of Pralor ships reaches the Alpha Quadrant and colonises a star system to be used as a place to launch their assault. Along the way to the Alpha Quadrant the machines regularly discovered new technologies and copies them into their own designs becoming even more of a threat.

Ok, so other than that summary, are you planning to actually write something, like episodes, about this? Or is this just a random thing that popped into your head and you felt the need to write it here, and have no intention of actually doing anything with it? I ask because if it's a fanfic idea, there's actually a forum for that where you can post stuff. If it's just something you pulled out of your derriere, then..well..carry on, I guess

Why would this be a requirement?

^Never said it had to be. But when someone says, "Well, my series idea is basically this...," that usually means one of three things:

1. They think that this is what the new show is going to be about, in which case discussion can ensue,

2. It's an idea they have for a fan fiction of their own, in which case it really should be in the fanfic section, or

3. It's just something they randomly pulled out of their ass and have no intention of doing anything with it other than the initial idea in the first post (which was what a LOT of posts in the Future of Trek section were before the new series was announced), in which case, I don't see much point in discussion if the OP doesn't even care enough to elaborate more.

That's why I asked what his plans were. Of course I could be making a mountain out of a molehill. That's for the OP to decide.
