It seems that a lot of people like writing fan fiction, including you so perhaps you could write that story.
As for me, I couldn't come up with one single idea for a novel or a short story. But I do wish someone would write a good Hirogen-based novel ... It's a pity no one has thought of this so far - or so it seems ...

I made a wallpaper from stitching a panorama together from Dragons Teeth using Hugin panorama tools + mucking about in Photoshop. Sky replacement and a stronger color adjustment with some girder junk added to make the image complete. ( I Still remember being impressed they built a ruined city all in 3d back in the day when it first aired).
