This hairstyle suited Mulgrew/Janeway well though! :techman:
But when I think back that production spent an exorbitant amount of $* just on her hair during the first 3 ²/4 years to finally adopt a short cut ..., which was how she wore her hair right the beginning instead of using the money to improved special effects and / or the extension of guest stars/actors hired for secondary roles.

* I read that Winrich Kolbe, who was a perfectionist in his director's role, has requested that scenes of Janeway's 19th century holoprogram were reworked = more working time for the staff) & reshooted, because he thought that the play of light and tableware didn't give him satisfaction. Without forgetting of course, the pilot, The Caretaker, which was known as the most expensive of all Star Trek pilots, because of the changing of the lead actress and Kate's hair, whose the hairstyle wasn't judged enough sexy. Result: still money down the drain! At least with Patrick Stewart/Jean-Luc Picard, producers didn't get such problems.

And Patrick Stewart hasn't changed much over the years.... In a positive sense.

She had that sorter haircut in the episode "Parturition", not to bee seen again until later in the series.

Indeed.
Anyway, IF she had to resume her role of Kathryn Janeway (as Admiral close to retirement or already retired), I hope that producers will let her wear the haircut she wants.
And before ending my post, let me wish to my US friends, a HAPPY THAKSGIVING (and an exciting Black Friday!)!!!

GREAT WORK, like always, my dear Thomas Eugene!!! :techman:

(I wonder why TNG was so present with no less than 4 characters appearing in guest stars (Riker, Q, Troi and Lt Reginald Barclay) several times while from DS9, we only got Quark and 2 of his fellow).
I don't know but TNG was a 'happier' show like Voyager. They had a better fit.

Part of the issue was that her hair appeared thin in the pilot, as well. Another reason they reshot it.
