STAR TREK - title reveal

Duhhh, why didn't anyone include the Starfleet delta shield in the titles before...and metal? Come on, this was the best title sequence ever for ST. The final credits were the best ever too.

RAMA

I thought the main title reveal was really nice.

I thought the end titles were a little too cartoony/cheesy. The music was great, but the graphics were over the top and didn't fit in with the way the film portrayed space.

I loved the metallic starfleet insignia, the slow reveal, how the music was used.. when I listen to the soundtrack I get all shiverry at that point when the title came up. This opening gets me every time. The first time I think I was just in shock at what I was experiencing.. for someone who went in spoiler free and fully expected a meh but pleasant experience I was so blown away by that first ten minutes. By the time it was the title reveal I was full of pride over Star Trek (LOL).

Really, most emotional movie experience ever. Not because it was a super emotional movie but because of what it was.. and to see Kirk and Spock again like that..

Awesome is so over used but there really is no better word.

Loved the opening title sequence. It had the proper amount of buildup, great music and graphics that let you know that Star Trek was back. I loved that they had no credits at the start and just had a brief title interlude between scenes.

For the end sequence i was let down. I can understand why they had Nimoy narrate the end sequence but they should have had Chris Pine take over halfway through to symbolize the proper handing over of the baton. The sequence of flying from cgi planet to cgi planet was ripped straight from Superman Returns and really had no place in this movie especially with the old school trek them being played along side it. It just seemed wrong. Thankfully the end credit music made up for the error.

Anyone besides me get goosebumps when the words STAR TREK appeared on screen?
::Raises hand::

It wasn't just a matter of the lead up to it or the music (both of which I thought were excellent). It was also that feeling of "This is it, yes, it's 'STAR TREK' back on the big screen!" Sure seeing the Kelvin battle you couldn't mistake it for any other franchise, but that title brought the point home in a big way. Loved it.

Yep.

Absolutely. A well of nostalgia and anticipation rising from deep inside me.

Movies with openings that gave me goosebumps in the last few years (regardless of whether they were good/bad or indifferent )

ST09
Star Wars Prequels
Indiana Jones & KotCS
Superman Returns

Terminator Salvation? going to see it tonight

I must be the only person here who actually liked the Transformers film. It must be a combination of childhood nostalgia and love for the protagonsit.

I liked Transformers, good fun, funny, entertaining.

I did to and the people complaining about the movie REALLY need to take a good look at certain aspects of Transformers animated series stuff like the Japanese Headmasters series before complaining about Bay's movie.

Also the title sequence in Star Trek (2009) was awesome.

Cool. :)

Anyway, there's never been a cooler title reveal than the one in ST XI.
