STAR TREK
The Perfect Man
Part 28

Andrew’s Planet

Miracle are said to be believed only by fools. Yet, on the surface of Andrews Colony, such a thing had happened. The planet had been destroyed, blown apart as the energy with in Raymond was released. His creation was by definition a challenge to the scientific realm of the day.

As fragments of the planet shattered in all the different directions of space, the power that had been contained with in Raymond seized upon the moment to behold the wonders of the universe. Shackled by the limited thought, and reasoning, of a human, Raymond was finally, in that split moment of the planet’s destruction, to adhere himself to the very fabric of reality. Was he created by a lineage that reached across time and space?

As Raymond began to see the answers, he also began to fathom the control he now had of a universe lost in the turmoil of creation, and end. With all his will he commanded that the planet be restored, and the lives that were lost with the desrtucion, restored along with it. His mind tapped into realms that were indescribable by mere words, and yet the boundaries of his own mind seemed yet more than just a string that tugged on his own being.

There was a silence that came with Godhood. One might see it as the cascading ebbs and flows of a river that beckoned the flowed of time and space to one moment in time. And with time there came infinite spirals of chance, and fate, that weaved the fabric of what was to what would be, and more importantly, to what was truth. Raymond felt alone for nearly an entire second of time. But in that time he witnessed it all; the beginning and the end. From the dawn of time where a spark ignited reality, to the end of time where but an ember was crusted with vines upon vines of different paths.

The lives of those who lived Andrews Colony were plucked from that mere thought, and returned to where they came. Beings that, only moments ago, were reduced to fragments of dust were brought back to where they were; and more importantly, so were their lives, their so called essence. Raymond had the ability to do just that. And, for that instant of time, Raymond thought he was the only one; but then there was the other. It was so close, so near. Raymond could feel the other drawing closer. There was no time; there was only one thing to do; he needed life.

--
The Learning Center on Andrews Colony boasted a very fine school for the children, and young adults, who lived on the century old colony. It was where they learned the arts, science, and the knowledge of countless other subjects.

Mirana, the attendant who taught those in the five to six age groups, loved her profession. Her task was to teach her students, all twenty of them, about such subjects as science, and math, at and elementary level. As all teachers, she had her favorite students. Once such student Mirana felt close to was J’ylon. For a child of only six Earth years old, J’ylon was very adept at many subjects already.

The young boy walked to Mirana’s desk.

“What is it?” Mirana asked J’ylon.

The young boy looked concerned. “For a moment I felt as though I had left by body.”

She nodded. “I felt it too,” Mirana said to him. “Perhaps there was a slight earthquake that displaced both our senses.”

As she spoke to J’ylor she felt another strange sensation. With out any thought, she picked up the scissors on her desk and attacked J’ylor with them. She looked up and watched the others in the room attack each other in the same way.

Suddenly the doors to her classroom burst open and several others rushed in wielding all kinds of blunt objects. Mirana could only watch as she, and all the others, joined an orgy of death. Finally she found her self attacked by the attendant who taught the class next to hers. His name was Molint, and he, and Mirana, had often talked of marriage before. In her final moments of life she could only watch as he grabbed the scissors from her hands, and then dug them deep into her neck, her blood spraying him as he did.

STAR TREK
The Perfect Child

(Previously, two installments ago…)

The image on the screen was replaced by that of two humans; a man and a woman; Geoff Norris and Angela Andrews.

“I’m sorry,” Kirk said to them, “but I can not allow you to continue on to Andrews Colony at this time. There has been some kind of an incident, so I must ask you to return at some later time.”

The woman spoke. “You don’t understand,” she said, “we are here for the same reasons you are.” She said in a kindly way. “My name is Angela Andrews, and this is my husband,” she paused, “Geoff Norris.”

Jacobs looked at the screen. “You are the biological father of Raymond. My son, Kyle, before he adopted Raymond, was told you were dead, along with your wife Julia.”

“As you can see,” Geoff said, “I am very much alive. And we, Angela and I, have come to take Raymond home.”

--
The Enterprise briefing room was filled with tension as Captain Kirk, Mr. Spock, Dr. McCoy, and Admiral Jacobs took their seats. At the head of the table were Angela Andrews, oldest daughter of Martin Andrews, and Geoff Norris, the biological father of Raymond.

“Excuse me for one moment,” Kirk said to the others.

Kirk pressed a button and the image of Uhura came on the three-sided monitor that was positioned on the large table.

“Lt. Uhura, have we received any updates from Starfleet Command?” Kirk asked.

“No sir,” Uhura replied. “All transmissions frequencies are being affected by the energy coming from Andrews Colony.”

The image of Uhura switched to Sulu.

“Sir,” Sulu said, “the light-being should enter the atmosphere of the colony with in the next ten minutes.”

The image switched to Chekov, who stood at Spock’s science station.

“Any change in readings?” Kirk asked Chekov.

“No sir,” Chekov said. “But we are still registering two different, yet unidentifiable energy patterns, just as Mr. Spock detected.”

“Very will, keep us posted, Kirk out.” Kirk pressed the button and the image of Chekov faded.

Kirk looked to Geoff and Angela. “Now,” Kirk said to them, “whatever’s happening down there is getting worse. Could you two please tell us,” Kirk said, pausing for affect, and then he stretched out his two arms for dramatic effect, “what is going on?”

Angela looked to Geoff, and then she answered Kirk’s simple question.

“What I am about to say,” Angela said softy, “will no doubt be very hard to believe, so please bear with me.” She thought for a moment, and then she continued. “Once upon a time, Captain Kirk, our people, Earthlings, believed. On other worlds belief in a higher life form never took hold, but on our world it did. Nearly fifteen thousand years ago, on Earth, something happened. Man kind had some kind of encounter with a force, perhaps a living entity, and it happened at a time when our ancestors were still very primitive in terms of logical thought. Being the humans that we are, in the absence of logic, we fill in the holes with belief.”

Spock spoke, “A very wise conclusion, Ms. Andrews.”

Angela nodded. “Thank you Mr. Spock.” She said to him. “But none the less, something happened. From that moment on a fable was created by the civilization of that time, and it spread like a wild fire. It foretold of a return. And, then, about 2400 years ago, the fable reached a ceiling. Now whether or not the validity of the first perfect child was that ceiling being breached, we will never know. But even in those times, it became believed by some, my family to be more precise, that such a perfect child could be created again.”

“Excuse me,” McCoy cut in, “I don’t mean to offend your beliefs, but what about all the other religions on Earth, especially those that were there far longer before yours was?”

Angela smiled, “I believe all of them, Doctor McCoy, have some element of reality to them. I have come to believe that there is something very special about Earth, and for whatever reason, higher levels of beings, of many varieties, have come to our world to guide us. I think they are the source of the belief of magic on our world, and other unexplainable myths our world has always had. But, more importantly to us right now, this particular fable gave us blue prints on how to become more like them. Martin Andrews, my father, and I, are direct descendents from one half of the family gene pool that created what some would call the first perfect child. Geoff descends from the other half of that gene pool. By the way,” Angela added, “I know that we are considered a cult. But we truly do believe that our divine nature is pure.”

Kirk looked to McCoy and nodded.

Doctor McCoy took the portable medical scanner out from his pocket. He scanned the two, Geoff and Angela.

“What about it, Bones? Are they,” Kirk paused, “special?”

“They appear to be perfectly norm…” McCoy’s voice trailed off. “Huh, well I’ll be,” McCoy said. “I am detecting, on the sub-atomic level, an energy pattern with-in both of you,” McCoy said. “Two different patterns, but they are then none-the-less.”

McCoy showed the Spock the readings.

“Captain,” Spock said, “the energy pattern with-in Ms. Andrews is identical to the energy pattern Mr. Chekov is monitoring on the surface of the planet. The other energy pattern, the one Dr. McCoy has detected inside of Mr. Norris, is identical to the light-being we had on the ship earlier.”

“How can that be?” McCoy asked.

Kirk shook his head. “Why weren’t these patterns inside them ever discovered before?”

“Perhaps,” Spock offered, “the energy inside them was suppressed until such time two pure forms of the patterns existed. Perhaps, at the sub-atomic level, the light-being, and the energy pattern on the planet, are interacting with them in ways we can not quantify.”

“Very astute, Mr. Spock,” Geoff said, “We didn’t detect the energy patterns inside of us either, until Angela became pregnant with our child, and gave birth.” Geoff said.

“Your child,” Kirk asked, “you have a child?”

They both nodded. “Our child,” Angela said to Kirk, “is the one you refer to as the light-being. We call him,” Angela said, “Raymond.”

“Wait,” Admiral Jacobs said, “I thought Raymond was already on the surface of the planet.”

Angela nodded. “As I told my husband Geoff, years ago, I have sinned in ways that can never be forgiven. There have always been not one, but two perfect children named Raymond.”

Star Trek
The Perfect Man
Part 30

Their souls had been to the other side. The thirty or so thousand people who had called Andrews Colony their home, had all been killed moments before. With out warning, their planet had been torn apart by forces they could not see, but in someway, had believed in.

And, just as life had come to an end, their world was reassembled, and so were their lives; their souls. But they had been to the other side, and it was a place that no one alive could go. And when the soul is overcome by knowledge it can not fathom, it divides down into its most remote composition. And when inspired by evil, that factor can become evil. It took no more than ten minutes for Andrews Colony to be put back together, and for its inhabitants to know life again.

Yet, acting on inspiration, one by one those who knew life, again, killed each other in violent acts.

The Enterprise had launched three probes towards the planet. The probes were programmed to avoid the trajectory the light-being was taking towards the planet, and the strange energy readings it was headed towards. Instead, the probes were sent to the other side of the planet, and were programed to use their high power observation instruments to scan the planet below.

What the crew of the Enterprise saw was shocking. The probes instruments were sensitive enough to show the large city on the surface of the planet. Massive throngs of people could be seen in one gigantic orgy of violence. Thousands of dead bodies could be seen scattered through out one of the large fields the violent acts were happening on. Most of the body had massive amounts of blood pooled around them, their heads having be bashed in, or worse.

There were still large gangs of humans fighting, even as the probes flew above. Lt. Uhura recoiled in shock as the main screen showed a woman being stoned to death, her clothes ripped from her body, and the men around her hacking her up with rakes and knives, and then, in some cases, devouring the chunks of flesh and innards that flowed from her body.

--
Captain Kirk, Admiral Jacob, Dr. McCoy, Mr. Spock, Angela Andrews and Geoff Norris all watched the same images on the monitor in the briefing room.

“My God Jim,” McCoy, “isn’t there anything we can do?” McCoy asked in disgust.

Kirk shook his head. “I’m not sure there is any thing we could do, Bones,” Kirk said, “I don’t want to move the ship any closer. For all we know the strange energy readings we are getting on the other side of the planet could penetrate the hull of this ship and cause us to…” Kirk’s voice trailed off, as he motioned toward the monitor.

Spock looked to Angela. “You said there were two Raymonds.” Spock said to her. “Can you please be more specific?”

“My father,” Angela said to Spock, “combined his DNA with that of my sister’s; Julia, and that started this evil plan of his; to kill God.”

“And just as shocking,” Geoff said, “is what he did to me. You see, I was born infertile. I could not have children of my own. I met Martin years ago. As I would find out later, our meeting was not by chance. He had kept his eye on me for years, ever since I was a child. He was sure that I descended from a divine family. When he met me, at last, he promised to help cure my infertility. What I didn’t know is that his goal was to allow me to create one, how shall I say this, one batch of seed.”

“Sperm,” McCoy said for Geoff.

“Yes,” Geoff said, “and when I married Julia, his daughter, and we made love that first night of our marriage, that would be the only time I would ever be able to create life. And then, later, after Julia’s egg, which 100% of Martin’s DNA, had been fertilized he took the egg out and used my sperm to create the perfect the child; Raymond.”

“Excuse me, I do not intend to offend,” Spock said, “but I must point out that Martin’s logic, and yours as well, is based on facts that no one can prove.”

“Mr. Spock,” Admiral Jacobs said to the Vulcan, “that is the beauty of faith. The moment one starts to quantify it, it can never hold up to the scrutiny of logic. I believe in God, I always have. Do I believe in him to the extent that Martin? No.”

Geoff cut in. “Let me be frank,” he said to them all, “I have never believed in God. And when Martin revealed the fact that I had a real son, and that he had planned to use Raymond for some crazy plan of his, I was powerless to stop him.”

“But you believe,” Jacobs said to Angela. “And yet, you’re married.”

Angela smiled. “No one is perfect,” Angela said with a smile aimed at Spock and Geoff. “In fact, as I have said, before, my belief will not forgive my sins. While I was away from home, and the watchful eye of my father, I became pregnant. My father, Martin, believed I was at one of our denomination’s schools. I was, but at night three of my friends and I would travel to the near by city and, well, we became pleasure givers. I was a prostitute.” Angela lowered her head in guilt.

“And I,” Geoff added, “also lived in that city. It was where I attended one of my first engineering classes, as a young man. One night, when I was drunk on Romulan Ale, my friends and I visited a pleasure center.”

Angela continued. “I recognized his name, having secretly read my father’s notes. Geoff Norris was the chosen father of the perfect child; via Julia. But Julia was only nine years old at the time, and I was jealous. Why couldn’t it have been me? But I had my chance, and I took it.”

Angela began to cry hysterically. Geoff held her tight.

“Why is she so upset?” Kirk asked softly.

“Because,” Angela sobbed, “I sacrificed my child; and Martin, my father, killed him.”

“Because,” Angela sobbed, “I sacrificed my child; and Martin, my father, killed him.”

Geoff held his wife close to him, and then he continued her story.

“Julia Andrews was my first wife, and, later I found out, she was Angela’s daughter. When Julia became pregnant with my only child, I was the happiest man in the world. But on the night of our child’s birth Martin Andrews, who was the doctor delivering the child, switched my son with a baby that he believed was from a common stranger. That child was actually Angela’s child. Angela had hid her pregnancy from her father, knowing that Martin would have punished her and banished the bastard child from her life. Angela knew that by switching her child with my child, she would be able to watch her son grow-up, even if only from afar.”

“Excuse me,” Dr. McCoy interjected, “but wouldn’t this be the child that Angela said she sacrificed?”

Geoff nodded. “Yes Doctor.” Geoff answered. “The child that Julia and I created, and remember her ovum was seeded with Martin’s DNA sequence exactly, was what Martin labeled the perfect child, and was to be his tool to capture the power of God. He switched these two babies, not knowing that the counterfeit child he passed off as mine was actually the child borne of him self and Angela.”

Angela recovered and spoke. “And then, on the day Geoff confronted Martin, all hell broke loose.”

“What do you mean?” Kirk asked.

Geoff continued. “I knew, from early on, that the child wasn’t mine. A friend of mine had done a physical on me and the results were stunning; I was still infertile. So I knew the child I had raised with Julia wasn’t mine. But it didn’t matter. I had just confined myself to believe that she got pregnant with some other man’s child so that she and I could be parents. When I confronted Martin he told me everything. He told me that I was indeed infertile, but that five years earlier, and for one time only, I wasn’t. He also told me that my child, the moment it was born, was switched with some random person’s child.”

“And that was when,” Angela said somberly, “the sacrifice was made. After Martin had Geoff over powered, he snapped the neck of the child who has been raised as ‘Raymond’, and had the body thrown out with the refuge. He then took the legitimate Raymond, Geoff’s and Julia’s child, and adopted the child out to a young couple...”

“That couple was my son, and his wife.” Admiral Jacobs said for Angela.

“Correct,” Geoff said. “But, unknown to Martin, he had already created a child with unique properties.”

Spock chimed in. “The child with the broken neck.”

“Precisely,” Geoff said to Spock. “Is there some truth to Martin’s belief that his family line, and mine, descended from divinity? I have come to reluctantly believe that there is.”

Angela took over. “When I found out that my Raymond had been killed by Martin, I checked the refuge, and sure enough his young, five year old body was still there. I picked him up out of the refuge and took him with me. My father had also given me Geoff so that I could control him over the years to come. While taking them both home a miracle happened.”

Geoff picked up where Angela left off. “While in a transport vessel on the way to Angela’s home in Hobart, I was sedated. The lifeless body of the counterfeit Raymond was next to me during the flight. Quite by accident my hand touched the body of the child and then…”

“The miracle happened.” Angela said with a smile. “I was sitting right there and saw the whole thing happen. Raymond’s body began to glow and,” Angela gasped, “Raymond began to move, my Raymond.”

“Fascinating,” Spock said.

“So your child was alive, again,” Kirk was able to conclude, “And the light-being on my bridge?”

Geoff and Angela smiled. “Raymond.”

Admiral Jacobs nodded, “Then my adopted son, my Raymond, is the entity that is orbiting the planet. It is the evil child in all of this? I find that hard to believe.”

Geoff spoke to Admiral Jacobs. “Your Raymond, the child you adopted, is also my child. He isn’t evil, he was corrupted by evil; Martin Andrews. Martin’s goal, through all of this, was to capture the power of God.”

Spock looked to Kirk. “Captain,” Spock said, “the light-being, which I guess we should call Raymond-1, will make contact with the entity orbiting the planet, which we should refer to as Raymond-2, in less than two minutes.”

“Let’s get to the bridge.” Kirk said to them all.

With that, Kirk-Spock-McCoy-Admiral Jacobs-Geoff and Angela all headed to the bridge.

Star Trek; The Perfect Man--Part 32

Star Trek
The Perfect Man-32

Just as Captain Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Jacobs and Geoff and Angela Norris stepped on to the bridge, via the turbolift, when suddenly the Red-Alert Klaxon sounded.

“Captain,” Sulu said from his post, “a Klingon battle-battle cruiser has just entered the system, and is on an interception course with us. I see her as one of the upgraded K't'inga class ships.”

Kirk sat down into his head, “How long until they get here Mr. Sulu?” Kirk asked.

“Five minutes and thirty seven seconds, and they pack quite an array of weapons.” Sulu replied.

“Open ship wide, Lt Uhura ” Kirk said, his head angled back toward’s Uhura’s statioin.

“Ship wide on,” Uhura replied.

Kirk spoke into the com-unit on the right arm of his chair. His voice echoed for all to hear.

“This is the Captain,” Kirk said, “at any moment the two energy entities will collide. As of now, we do not know what the result of that will be. We have just detected a Klingon Warship on an intercept course with the Enterprise. I know this goes with out saying, but I will say it anyway,” Kirk said to them all, “but this is the finest ship in the fleet, and we all know it. I know that I can rely on all of you to do your jobs at the utmost ability; Captain out.”

McCoy smiled at Kirk, “That was a pretty good pep-talk Jim,” McCoy said, “you should do more of them. You might have made a great Soccer coach, had you gone into it. I think you need to more of them on occasions like this one.”

Kirk shook his head on time, quickly, “Not necessary, bones. This crew is above constant cuddling. They rise to the challenge each and every time.”

Before McCoy could respond, Spock cut him off.

“The light being from the Enterprise, Raymond-1, will strike the energy above Andrews Colony,” Spock paused, “Now.”

The two areas of energy collided, and the result was a massive burst of energy. From that blast, a shock wave was created. And it spread out from the explosion, at a very quick rate of speed.

“Captain,” Sulu said excitedly, “the Klingons have armed weapons. They are firing!”

At once, two blasts streaked out from the Klingon vessel, striking the Enterprise. The shields of the Enterprise held, but then the Klingons fired again.

The Enterprise was rocked by the blasts.

“Why are they firing?” Admiral Jacobs demanded.

“They’re Klingons,” Chekov responded, “they have their finger on one button alone; fire.”

“That is not true, Ensign Chekov.” Spock said from his station.

Suddenly the Enterprise was rocked again.

“Prepare to fire phasers,” Kirk ordered.

Spock cut in, “The shock wave from the collision will pass our position in five seconds,” Spock said.

The giant shock wave that had been created with both energy patterns collided over the planet, Andrews Colony, passed over and through the Enterprise, and then it did the same to the Klingon Vessel.

In one instant, everyone onboard both ships; were gone!
