New Voyages was one of my favorite books as a kid.
Most Trek books I only read once or twice but this one I read over and over and over.
The one thing that struck me as weird (and icky) is, there was one story with slight slash overtones. (G rated though). Shatner wrote the introduction to that story, and said something along the lines of "These fanfic writers know the characters better than we do." Scuse me Mr. Shatner, but ... eeeeeew!!
New Voyages 2 was good, too, but that one I only read once. I thought it was much more of a mixed bag than the first one. The M&C story in 2 was probably the worst thing they've ever written and that's saying a lot.
